Shopify Hydrogen Analytics is now fully fixed!

With the latest version of Shopify Hydrogen (April 2024), Hydrogen analytics is fixed and integrates seamlessly with the Shopify native cookie banner. This means you no longer need to use third-party cookie consent management services while building a headless storefront.

Weaverse Hydrogen theme is also updated to the latest version, and we just published a complete guide on setting up domain, checkout, and analytics. Check out the link in the 🧵 ⬇

You don’t need to be on Shopify Plus, to have Shopify’s newest coolest feature: Combined Listing. You need Hydrogen. First, let’s look at an example here:

Honey Love’s Product page.

Notice how the URL changes when I hop between style variants. What might surprise you is that it does not use variants, but instead switches to another product altogether - without reloading the entire page. This is the slick, almost imperceptible transition that makes Hydrogen nothing short of brilliant!

Oh in case you don’t know, with Combined Listing, you can easily merchandise products that come in multiple options that are best represented visually. It’s now easier for you who sell products that come in multiple colors, materials or dimensions to provide a better, higher-converting customer experience to their customers.

I’ll put up a tutorial on how to pull this off with Hydrogen, soon! :)

We recently moved our Shopify Hydrogen theme to Vite.

This change has brought us a better HMR and access to the Vite plugin ecosystem.

One minor drawback is that deploying the project to other platforms like Vercel is now more challenging. We are still working on it.

Shopify Theme Blocks are now available in the developer preview.

From the beginning, Weaverse for Hydrogen has implemented this mechanism.

Developers can define schema settings not only at the Sections level but also at the Blocks level.

In Weaverse, we refer to these collectively as Components.

With Weaverse Hydrogen, you can leverage the best of React: define components at the atomic level and reuse them everywhere, easily implementing a design system into your project.

Just before the Tết Holiday, we've added two new features to @WeaverseIO: Custom Page and Custom Template.

- The Custom Page feature lets Shopify Developers and Merchants create pages with any URL they want.

- The Custom Template feature allows devs and merchants to make different content for different types of pages like product, collection, regular, and blog post pages.

Now, with these features, Weaverse is really making the most of Shopify Hydrogen for headless storefronts, and we're still keeping all the great stuff from OS.20. After Tết, we've got a bunch of exciting things to build. Can't wait to show you what's next – see you again next (lunar) year!
