-What are Shards?
Shards represent memberships in Guilds. You can purchase shards from different guilds, but you can only be affiliated with one guild at a time. Before joining, do your research about the guild: https://t.co/Zk2xBWshqq

-How much do shards cost?
The cost of the first shards is affordable but increases with more sales.

-What if i don't join any guild?
You can choose not to affiliate with any guild. Pixels is focusing on enhancing solo gameplay, which includes building your own speck. However, rare resources will be generated by guild lands, so you might not want to miss out on that.

-What are the advantages of joining a guild?
Joining a guild gives you access to rare resources from the guild's lands. Depending on the guild, you can also receive valuable information and guidance from other guild members, which could help you progress faster, especially if you're new to the game.

-Can i change a guild after joining one?
Yes, you can always change guilds or sell your shards.

EARLY ACCESS TO GUILDS OPENS TODAY 🔥

In this initial phase, the Top 20 ranked Guilds have been given 100 Shards each to distribute. These Guilds also have the option to enable Shard purchases.

Owning a Shard is your way of supporting a Guild. Then, it's up to the Guild leadership to decide if they'll assign you a member role!

How to purchase a Shard:

To purchase a Guild Shard, join the Guild's Request List. Guild leaders can then see your request and add you to a whitelist. After being added to the whitelist, you can purchase Shards.

Guild Leaders: the whitelist function is optional, but we recommend keeping it on! This gives you time to control the flow of Shard purchases.

Guild Shard prices follow a bonding curve. As more Shards are bought, their price will increase. For example, the first Shard will cost 1 $PIXEL—the next, 2 $PIXEL, and so on. Shard purchasing will be activated for the remaining Guilds in the coming days.

More updates:

Initial Guild Shards: When a Guild is activated, Guild leaders will receive a certain number of pre-minted Guild Shards to distribute at their discretion.

Farm Land Associations: Landowners can associate their NFT Farm Land to a Guild. This information is visible on the Guild's dashboard page.

How to choose your Guild:

To choose the right Guild for you, first explore their associated lands. Then, immerse yourself in our community. Join our Discord, engage in conversations, and discover which community and culture align with your goals and/or preferences. Each Guild will have its own governance structure, so it's important to find the one that fits you best!

What’s coming next:

Roles: By purchasing a Guild Shard, you automatically become a Supporter of the Guild. To transition from Supporter to an official Member, you must be assigned a higher-level role (ex. Farmer or Manager) within the Guild. This functionality will be introduced in a future update.

Selling: In an upcoming release, we’ll open up the ability for Shard Holders to sell back their Shards at the bonding curve price.

Chapter 2: This will be our biggest gameplay update yet. If you’ve watched our AMAs, you know what to expect. Speck upgrades, new resource tiering, new industries, and so much more. Guilds will play a crucial role in resource management in this new gameplay. Stay tuned & get ready 💪

2023 was a landmark year for Pixels as we became one of the largest web3 games by DAU, which surpassed 180K. Our explosive growth can be attributed to two core factors: our community and our migration to Ronin, Sky Mavis’ proprietary blockchain. Behind every successful web3 game is a thriving, engaged, and passionate community. We started with a core, devoted community that has only expanded as Pixels was introduced to the players in the Ronin ecosystem.

In 2024, Pixels is stepping into its next chapter of growth fueled by the listing of $PIXEL on Binance. $PIXEL is set to enable strong gameplay while supporting a robust ecosystem. We are building upon a strong foundation created alongside our community and we are excited to continue to make web3 a better place for all gamers.

Evolution of Tokenomics:

For any web3 game to achieve long-term success, sustainability must always be prioritized.

We aim to combine good game design, lessons from the leading web2 games, and what’s working from the top web3 games into delivering what we believe to be a long-term and sustainable economy for our game.

We have evolved how we think about our tokens in-game and have made the strategic decision to focus on $PIXEL and to phase out $BERRY. All $BERRY holders will be rewarded with $PIXEL, with the reward proportionate to the amount of $BERRY owned.

Why This Approach?

Currently, $BERRY experiences a daily inflation rate of approximately 2%. Although Chapter 2 will address complications arising from this inflationary model, we have opted to implement early measures to sustain the economy. This move allows us to build a more sustainable ecosystem and positions us for a stronger future, without the challenges associated with managing a soft currency on-chain.

$BERRY, as a soft currency, poses challenges in managing within a live player base and economy. Most MMOs struggle with balancing an inflationary economy, and Web3 technology exacerbates the issue by enabling farmers to grind harder and sell their earnings more easily.

Addressing numerous issues, Chapter 2 aims to safeguard $PIXEL from similar abuses. Players must strategize, collaborate, and complete tasks at random intervals to earn tokens. To maintain a fair playing field, $BERRY will be replaced with an off-chain coin, effective immediately.

We intend to reduce sell-pressure by implementing measures that limit its ease of sale on the market or decentralized exchange (DEX) for the off-chain coin. This strategy also addresses regulatory concerns related to money-transmitting licenses, ensuring continued user participation in core gameplay loops, especially in regions like the US and UK. And, by concentrating on a single currency, we aim to streamline the project's economic model, enhancing overall efficiency and player experience.

Next Steps for $BERRY Holders:

To be as fair to the community as possible, we are committed to rewarding $BERRY holders with $PIXEL, with the reward proportionate to the amount of $BERRY owned. This will be done in-game but will reflect both on-chain and off-chain balances of $BERRY.

$BERRY will be substituted in game with a new off-chain currency: coins. Players will subsequently have the chance to exchange $PIXEL for coins, gaining a gameplay advantage.

→ I have $BERRY in-game already: Great! You’ll receive $PIXEL automatically.
→ I have $BERRY outside the game: Open the Pixels Dashboard, and navigate to the exchange page. Here, you can exchange your $BERRY for $PIXEL.

The reward will be proportionate to the value of $BERRY owned. However, if you're part of that second group, you're going to want to act quickly. The sooner you convert $BERRY to $PIXEL, the better the conversion rate will be.

We will be exchanging $PIXEL for 1000 $BERRY for 7.6175 $PIXEL.
