Following the bear down the trail, it had its front paws on our 1962 Ford Falcon.

Dad gave the pack with food in it to one of the cars that had stopped to watch.

All were fine and we got the pack back. Photos exist.

@GlacierNPS Yes we do. About 1965, we were coming down to the car on a trail a bit east of the west hairpin on the Going to the Sun highway when a bear crashing through the brush came down to the trail. We heard it coming and rushed uptrail a bit. 1/n

#TejonPass UPDATE: Crews are dealing with snow along an approximately 20-mile stretch of I-5, with the snow line going as south as Templin Hwy, near Castaic. Over a foot of snow has fallen at some of the corridor’s highest elevations. No estimated time of reopening.

@SeattleWXGuy I don't know why you say No warnings from NWS. We have known for days freezing rain is coming. Maybe the hazardous weather conditions were slow.
I do have experience with freezing rain AKA Silver Thaw from growing up West of Portland. Listening to branches break every 30 seconds
