A hard-working man submits his tax return just ONE day late. He owes HMRC absolutely nothing. They still slap him with a £100 fine. No mercy. No excuses.
Now compare that to Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner. She sits on a £40,000 stamp duty bill for almost twelve full months. She only coughs up the cash recently – conveniently right after receiving a £50,000 “office expenses” gift from a refrigeration company. And what happens?
Not one single penny in fines.
No penalty.
No interest.
No comeback whatsoever.
How? Why? Who signed this off?
Is HMRC applying “reasonable excuse” rules selectively – only when the offender has “Deputy PM” in their title and powerful friends? Or is this the new normal under Starmer’s Labour: one rule for the little people scraping by, another for the freeloading elite who lecture us about fairness while bending every rule in their favour?
This isn’t a minor admin slip. This is blatant two-tier taxation on top of two-tier justice, two-tier policing and two-tier everything else.
