While the topic hasn’t got much attention thus far, the UK’s future approach to energy policy and tackling climate change will be shaped by how the country votes on 4th July. Some brief thoughts on the big debates / flashpoints to watch out for over the next 5 weeks…1/11 🧵
Less than 20 years ago, the world was headed for a >4C warmer world by 2100. The amount of change that would occur under that much warming, that fast, was almost unimaginable and certainly unsurvivable for human civilization + a large percentage of the world's species. (thread)

@janrosenow Wow... Government seems to think you need to get to a C before a heat pump is a good solution. On the social housing decarbonisation fund for eg I think you have to have completed all fabric measures first before they'll fund heat pump installation
@janrosenow Probably one of the biggest challenges thrown at heat pumps is that they aren't suitable for UK homes. What's the EER of your property Jan? And any need to reconfigure or replace radiators? (if you dont mind sharing)
I've now been asked multiple times for my take on Elon's offer for Twitter.
So fine, this is what I think about that. I will assume the takeover succeeds, and he takes Twitter private. (I have little knowledge/insight into how actual takeover battles work or play out)

▪️Economy.
How did your country do?
