DO THINGS THAT SUCK!
This is the most valuable life lesson I’ve learned in my 49 years.

Here’s the hard truth, a lot of the people you walk by on the street are living to survive. They’ll take the easiest path when presented with forks in their life roads. Why? Because it’s easy!

Yet, while the easy roads they take are crowded, the SUCK lanes are relatively empty. You’ll own them. And you’ll be walking on those roads with other people willing to do things that suck. And your connections and conversations on those roads will be more impactful without all the life clutter from others.

So when you’re in the nearly empty gym at 5 am with five or six people busting your ass while everyone else is sleeping, know you’re doing it right. Because it sucks.

And when you’re sitting at your table studying for a test or preparing for another job interview while your amigos are out partying, know you’re doing it right. Because it sucks.

Do things that suck. And your life won’t suck. And you’ll set the example for those that matter to you that they shouldn’t accept mediocrity either. Because it SUCKS.

I dedicate this post to a man who did a lot of things that sucked. Rest in peace Lenny Hyde.
