Risky move with copilot pricing before the models release though, as people are already jumping ship in large numbers. Should have waited until next month to flip the pricing.
MS being cagey so they don't scare any partners off. "We have models but they're not as great as yours!".. until they catch up.
Meanwhile everyone will use them because they will go out of their way be the cheapest models. Some benefits to owning your own data centers, surprise!
Microsoft and OpenAI broke up — now they’re ready to fight. Microsoft AI CEO @mustafasuleyman tells me "the goal is to prove that we can become one of the top four labs in the world." Interview from me and deep analysis from @haydenfield 👇 https://t.co/q7i6u8h5NC
@burkeholland@github It's going to be the cheapest model right?
That's how I'd drive adoption: make all other rnodels eat your credits and the MS ones cheap as chips.
Generally IT will have a head (perhaps the CIO) who has a budget for cloud, licensing blah blah.
Each product probably requires approval as a cost allocation to a dept, so the person you are standing making demands to probably can't give you what you want. Speak to your line manager.
Look at Azure Marketplace for listing your licenses as a SaaS product (with not azure resources). Requires a bit of API/webhook type work. You can give people free trials, they can go monthly etc and, if being honest, it's easier for "shadow" purchases that don't go through the boss/finance dept.
@LyalinDotCom The next wave of voters watch tiktok all day and are trained to be, ironically, vehemently opposed to data centres for water usage, power usage and the inevitable questionable land use.
It's important that new data centres take the moral high ground or they won't exist at all.
@0xglitchbyte Web is a flexible commodity way to present cross platform UI. Yes we should just have good system webviews with shared memory and sandboxing.
To get equivalent fidelity to web you would need to implement a web browser.
@arimedai@shiri_shh Yeah its a balance based around cost. There will be a crossover point where the latest cloud models cost more than running the best local hardware.
We're probably already there for many users and the frontier models will continue to go up in price as their size increases.
