@markojak Although the tariffs are having the most obvious, immediate effects, I'm most worried about the violations of free speech and rule of law. Those are the foundation of everything. Without those you can't vote out people who make economic policy mistakes.
I'm glad this formulation is catching on! Target the GOP legislators who can stop this insanity. Most just too afraid of Trump and Musk to overcome their cowardice. To change a coward's calculations, they must become more afraid of something else. Like losing their seat. https://t.co/RE2AKj5ZJk

In 35-page ruling, DColo judge grants class-wide (statewide) TRO against removing Venezuelans under Alien Enemy Act. Plaintiffs likely to win on argument that ACT DOES NOT APPLY. "Invasion," "predatory incursion," "foreign nation or govt" all absent here. https://t.co/bndNsNC9qe
I spent the day at the ICE Detention centers where Rümeysa Öztürk and Mahmoud Khalil are being unjustly detained. They've been taken thousands of miles away from home, and denied the dignity, medical care, and due process they deserve.
This is not normal. No part of this is legal or just. My constituents deserve to live free from fear. Our freedoms and our destinies are tied.
Over the past several months, I’ve spent many hours in conversations with people who have experienced firsthand a flip from democracy to dictatorship.🧵
I want to share with my followers some insightful analysis of how and why we are failing to defend our democracy from Trump's onslaughts against all our civic institutions. Thomas Edsall wrote a very important NYT op-ed today where he asked several professors to explain
INSANE: What the Rule of Law looks like right now. The US government can't even say in court whether any particular person is here legally because it wants the power to make ANYONE illegal and deport them at any time without any notice or due process.
I gave Ted Mabrey two days to respond, but I think we now have to conclude that he has run away. After pages of heroic-sounding doublespeak, the well has suddenly run dry. I was open to being proven wrong about Palantir, but unfortunately it's looking like I was right.
Three U.S. prosecutors in New York working on the federal case against NYC Mayor Eric Adams resigned today, sending a letter to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche accusing him of allegedly pressuring them to falsely "express regret and admit some wrongdoing" in the case.

And now we have an admission of guilt. These people need to be immediately removed from office. He wasn't "disappeared." We just vanquished from the US without telling anyone that we were going to dump him in our gulag. This is depraved.
Every day a new monstrosity: This person who was in constant communication with family would certainly have called his family and is either incarcerated in a black site prison somewhere or dead. The govt is dumping people in random countries, and it is not revealing where.
@webyrd Jangara Ramen Akihabara honten was featured on today's episode of "What do you do to Japan?(You wa nanishini nippon he)". A fan of Japanese professional gamer who like Jangara Ramen visited it.
