Strong software teams are found at the intersection of people, business, and architecture.

@AstridSawatzky@allenholub @ifwewereallblue I hesitate to use the word "intelligent" because it reduces the skills necessary to bring a project or product to fruition to a single, oft-overvalued, facet
@AstridSawatzky@allenholub @ifwewereallblue We recommend that the person with the most context, authority, and ability focus on learning how to support those around them and learn how to distill context where and when appropriate.

You'd think starting a new podcasting season during a pandemic wouldn't be that different (it's a remote setup!) yet it is.
Thank you to our guests and to our listeners who joined us for Season 4 of #StorytimeWithManagers and learned and strived with me.

We wrap up #StorytimeWithManagers Season 4 with a charming tale from @tundal45, who discovers his volunteer role has secretly been a manager role! Ashish shares a warm, vulnerable story of his missteps and discoveries, and how he navigates the journey.

Ep 28 of #StorytimeWithManagers is out!
@kwugirl
breaks down "Ask and Offer Culture" (or as Ask-ers like to call it, "Guess culture") and how differences in default assumptions around communications can lead to workplace misunderstandings.

Ever heard venting like this?
* That was so unprofessional! 😠
* Why are they being so rude? 😖
* Don't they CARE?
Tomorrow's #StorytimeWithManagers with @kwugirl
explains one reason this can happen, and what to do when you see it.

🤔How do you help others without inflicting unwanted help?
🤔How do you show someone a better way without making them feel bad?
@edwinthinks shares what you need to improve your hands-on technical leadership:

👋I (@jtu) had paused #StorytimeWithManagers at the beginning of this month because it didn't feel right to release given current events.
I'd been trying to decide between starting again after Juneteenth or end of the month, then, uhh, got distracted.
Back in April, I was in awe of what @edwinthinks's teammates on a volunteer project had to say about him. They all enthused over his helpfulness as their tech lead.
Balancing presence as a tech lead is a struggle, and I learned a lot from my #StorytimeWithManagers ep with Edwin.
Anyway, that's what's up with us. We are listening and learning and striving.
We're still here, we're still doing our best to honor our commitments and do the right thing in the moment.
As @betsythemuffin would say -- hearts, y'all.
We normally would share a #StorytimeWithManagers podcast episode with you on a Wednesday.
It's not a normal week, and publishing a podcast episode just doesn't feel right to us today.
For now, no #StorytimeWithManagers this week, again.
I'll be reaching out to my amazing podcast guests to get their thoughts on what the right thing to do right now is, wrt their unpublished episodes.
I'd welcome your thoughts as well.
