@dhh Curious what do you envision would be "smoke testing" in the future? A good candidate for that? We are considering doing the same because we aren't gaining much from system tests anymore.
@afomera I love your hot take. I'm curious what regrets you've had for using Devise? Likewise, I've not encountered an issue yet personally that caused me to regret it *yet* lol,.
This #valentinesday practice your #assertivecommunication by following these steps next time you want to express your needs.

#Communication looks like this sometimes.Thoughts, emotions, movement. Occasionally we use too much volume or excess speed that we get entangled and end up tripping. See if you can slow down, #pause, breathe, listen to yourself 1st. What is your #intention with the next sentence?
As engineers, we often overlook #softskills because it isn't coding. I can tell you that exercising #softskills not only will make your career progress much faster but you will be happier too!
Engineers are people too so let's acknowledge that by investing in their humanity!
#softskills are the hardest because they relate to personality traits or behaviors/beliefs learned throughout life. It is crucial to master them to 1. have healthy relationships 2. move forward in your career. Schedule an assessment session and we can talk more about it!

@davetron5000 Thanks @davetron5000 for your thoughts! Yeh, that would be awesome. I think functional CSS and an approach like this would be sustainable but haven't tried it yet.
Once again appreciate the book! My team loves doing book clubs with it!
@davetron5000 what are your thoughts on https://t.co/7GxcVvZroo as it pertains to template management in Rails? Been reading your book on Sustainable rails and I was wondering how this library might fit into that topic?
@hillelogram I prefer building a culture where PTO was normalized. I've heard numerous times about unlimited PTO but their people aren't taken them. If the upper-positioned people aren't taking PTO then I suspect it is less likely others will.
Lead by example and take time off :)

@catalinmpit "There are three C's in resume writing. Make it clear, make it count, and make it compelling."

Whoops I said "Concise" when I meant "make it Count'
@catalinmpit I am not a huge fan of resumes. But...
I do care about how people interpret their experiences and what they thought was important. This could tell me something about a person at first glance. A resume might be a vessel for that. Concise, Clear, Compelling
From @tobi’s time on the core team through Shopify’s continued contributions to the framework, this is one hell of a company to have in Rails’ corner. And now that they’ve gone all-in on remote, you really should give these open positions a look, if you’re looking for a new job!
@svpino Thanks! Yeah, I personally like to start with 'why' :). I find it helps us understand what the outcomes are.
In my case, my reasons are like anti-goals. That is, I want to be great so I can have more time with my family and less time in the code.
