Hello everyone, this is JUDY. Today, I want to open my heart and share something deeply personal with you all.
Time has flown by so quickly—it feels like only yesterday we started this journey together in the PyPyDance community, a space filled with passion and dreams. Over the past four years, we’ve grown from a simple vision to hosting monthly dance events, creating countless unforgettable memories along the way. The hundreds of group photos we’ve taken are more than just snapshots; they’re a testament to the joy, connection, and love that bind us all.
This past year has been a profound journey of immense growth and challenges for me. I’ve learned so much—how to design game worlds, create posters, organize giveaways, and handle every detail of our events. These experiences as a host have been some of the most fulfilling moments of my life. Yet, behind the scenes, this passion came with long hours, late nights, and an ongoing struggle to balance my work, life, and dreams. While I poured my heart into everything, I gradually realized I was neglecting something even more vital—my own well-being.
In real life, so many things are beyond my control. Working in a hospital often means unpredictable schedules, making time management a constant struggle. On top of that, my parents, who are aging, now need more care, adding to my responsibilities. I’ve also faced one of the hardest setbacks of my life—heartbreak. Many nights were filled with tears, hidden behind event planning as I tried to keep moving forward.
At the start of this year, I held onto dreams that felt just out of reach—learning Japanese and Korean, building a healthier body, saving for a home, and perhaps even finding a life partner. But these aspirations, like distant stars on the horizon, remain waiting for the day I can finally reach for them. Balancing all of this alongside hosting monthly events has left me emotionally and physically drained.
A dear friend once shared a profound truth with me: “You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.” This advice has stayed with me and made me realize that to continue contributing meaningfully to this community, I first need to replenish my own energy and rediscover my balance. After much reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to step back:
Starting in 2025, I will temporarily suspend hosting PyPyDance events.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s a pause—a moment for self-reflection and renewal. I hope to return one day, revitalized and ready to bring even more joy and inspiration to this amazing community.
I want to take a moment to thank the incredible people who have supported me along this journey: To Zuwaii, Natsumii, and varkaria—your unwavering support made every detail shine. To K.MOG, pypy, and lox—thank you for your technical excellence that brought our events to life. To vidkul, minkis, and sakuu—your encouragement and quiet dedication kept me going. And to every single one of you who joined PyPyDance—you are the heart of this journey. Your smiles, passion, and energy made every effort worthwhile—it wouldn’t have been possible without you.
As we move forward, I hope you continue to dance freely in this paradise we’ve created together, embracing the pure joy of movement in every step. For me, I’ll still be here, but not as a host. Instead, I’ll join you as a fellow dancer, reconnecting with the simple happiness that started it all: enjoying life and savoring every dance.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all the love and support you’ve given me. I look forward to the day when our posters go up, and we reunite with lighter hearts and brighter smiles again.
Forever your devoted dancer,
JUDY
