@moveimgaytarist living in MM doesn't guarantee a person to be good at tagalog. there are still factors that have yet to be confirmed, whether OP was isolated, homeschooled, etc. i think using MM as an example also ignores the diverse communities that could possibly have less tagalog speakers.
