@JohnSwinney@scotgov Are you going to be covering how your response to economic uncertainty is to splash the cash on 20 grand pay rises for some of the most incompetent people in the public sector? You’re not a serious ‘politician’
I went to Marseille, France in 2012. We walked around the beautiful city on foot. But one of the streets went from colorful to black. Everyone was wearing black. The women in burkas. They all noticed us and stared at us with scowls. We left quickly.
👇👇👇"People are struggling. Their Council Tax Bills have gone through the roof, some have been dragged into higher income tax brackets. Their broadband is going up, their energy bills are going up and you've decided to give your colleagues a 19 GRAND pay rise!". #SNPout
@BeckettUnite Erm, hold on, Howard! This is the same Stephen Flynn who didn’t bother his backside to show up for a Westminster debate on the future of Grangemouth.
He wasn’t alone as 47 out of 48 SNP MP’s were ‘washing their hair’ that night. That’s one reason we gave most of them the boot.

#theyknew Thank you. Maggie Oliver for speaking so eloquently for the young girls being targeted, groomed, abused and raped in the Uk, by men from different culture and value system. Why are mainstream UK politicians avoiding this horrendous issue?
We know why Labour councils and police forces across the country don’t want a national enquiry into the rape and abuse of hundreds of thousands of children over decades.
Because #theyknew and turned a blind eye for ‘the sake of diversity’
#TheyKnew
Absolutely @MaggieOliverUK
Social services, schools, children’s homes, the police, hospitals and hotels - they all knew what was going on, but were ignored or warned off.
Some benefitted in some way!
Accountability is key to this issue. Those who pretended and still pretend that this wasn’t a massive child protection matter are as guilty as the perpetrators.
All we want is justice for the victims/survivors AND the enablers/perpetrators!
Listening to maggie Oliver this morning on grooming gangs, 20 years she’s been fighting for these children and still governments are still turning a blind eye,, shocking #theyknew
Maggie Oliver is spearheading a new campaign for legal action against people in positions of power, who she says turned a "blind eye" to the abuse of children.
She tells @charlottehawkns and Richard that more needs to be done 'to bring change for the future.'
#theyknew . . I defy any MP to say these girls deserve less than a national enquiry.
The post office scandal was worthy of such, and rightly so.
Why are the girls not considered important enough ??
Immensely proud to launch the #TheyKnew campaign today.
I will never forget how those in power turned a blind eye while I was being groomed and abused.
I was a child begging for help.
Begging for support.
Begging for justice.
There was no greater betrayal than being blamed and vilified by the professionals whose job it was to protect me. That’s why I want to challenge the systemic attitudes which allowed my abusers to go unpunished and refused to act when I was at continued risk.
#TheyKnew is more than a campaign: it is a call to action and a demand for accountability. Powerful people and organisations who wilfully ignore the sexual exploitation and abuse of vulnerable children are, in my view, as culpable as the abuser themselves.
We must demand better from those who claim to protect victims of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
And there must be consequences for inaction, to show that they cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the children still being abused under their noses.
Those in positions of power turned a blind eye for decades while little girls were being raped, tortured, and murdered. And they still are.
They branded them “white slags”, “child prostitutes”, and “paki shaggers”. They walked in on victims naked and drugged with 20+ adult men and only arrested the child, they arrested girls for prostitution and handed them back to the same men that were exploiting them, they added the victims to dockets as co-defendants in their own abuse, they downplayed the scale of abuse, they refused to investigate reports, they paid for the taxi rides the girls got raped during, they silenced whistleblowers, they blamed the girls for their own abuse, they tried to block inquiries, and more.
Alongside @MaggieOliverUK and others, our company Action for Accountability will be investigating the institutions, officials and organisations that were responsible for protecting little girls like me from abuse — and securing justice against those who failed.
We are relying solely on the kindness of the public to bring this campaign to action, so please donate and share.
It was the public who forced those in power to address the injustice they swept under the rug for decades. It was the public who listened when the “great and the good” didn’t want to.
Now, we hope that the public will be the army and infantry behind our campaign.
#TheyKnew — now, we want them to know justice for their inaction.

Rochdale grooming gang whistleblower @MaggieOliverUK has launched a legal campaign #TheyKnew to investigate taking action against those who failed to tackle exploitation.
She tells @JuliaHB1: “People at the top all knew what was going on and chose to ignore it.”
#TheyKnew …… Action for Accountability launches today. Please share, support and help us. There should be consequences for the powerful who KNOWINGLY ignored the sexual abuse of children. I believe this is the only way to change the system for future generations of children ….
