Tracy Chapman means everything to me, she is the most lover woman I’ve ever heard. Every song by her feels like she’s singing directly about you and is sending her love directly into your soul.

Rest in peace @DollyParton, an inspiration for so many of us

Listening to Tracy Chapman so that I can hear someone who articulates poetically the struggles of the #poorworkingclass, the hopes and dreams we have to get our come up and finally be recognised as Humans, and just how fucking heavy the systems in place are sitting in our necks.

. @machinegunkelly wrapped his Lost Americana Tour at the Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington on on July 1, 2026 with a stripped-back acoustic medley : between his own songs and a Nickelback cover, came an unexpected turn: an acoustic rendition of Fast Car.

Different worlds, one song that keeps finding new voices. What do you make of Fast Car in a new voice?

Bill Graham and the Grateful Dead really knew how to bring the community together for a noble cause.
Los Lobos, Tower of Power, John Fogerty (& Friends).
Tracy Chapman was simply divine.
Trucked in solo from Santa Cruz.
Just turned 23.
On the floor and flying high.
Good times.

Music PSA...y'all have heard of Tracy Chapman & her famous song 'Fast Car,' but perhaps y'all haven't heard of one of her best albums (imho) from 2000. I recently re-discovered this gem & am passing my love of this album onto y'all. You're welcome...enjoy & happy listening.

@patrickbetdavid Its not always the expensive, biggest and loudest concert, sometimes it the perfect sound matched with energy and a singer/performer that really wants to be there. I give this to Tracy Chapman SUNY Fredonia 1995.

I can’t believe it’s been 38 years since Tracy Chapman’s first album came out. It changed so many lives, including mine. Did it change yours? Tell me your story!

[Jack Barry @thisguyjack]

Ya Know What? You didn’t ask me, but I’m gonna tell ya.

A friend o’ mine and I walked around the south coast of Jamaica, about a quarter-century ago or so…

And it was strange… but Tracy Chapman’s First Album.

The brown one, with her name on it. So Great.

“You gotta fast car…”

It was an ANTHEM for the whole country, for the whole island, it was a wish for a better world, universally

Heartfelt plentitude in simplicity. Let it

Find Itself. So Damn Good.

I Love Tracy Chapman. She Does Not Lie.

Everything that falls from this.
Everything that comes after this…

Prevail, You.

Big Hug.

Love.

You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
So now we see the light (what you gonna do?)
We going to stand up for our right (yeah, yeah, yeah)

Get up, stand up (in the morning, don't give it up)
Stand up for your right (stand up right now)
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight (don't give it up, don't give it up)

Get up, stand up (get up, stand up)
Stand up for your right (get up, stand up)
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight (get up, stand up)
