Safety is central to oncology acupuncture.
Treatment should account for blood counts, anticoagulation, implanted devices, surgical or irradiated tissue, and metastatic disease.

Many clinicians may not realize acupuncture is already included in oncology guidelines for selected symptoms.
The important point is specificity: it is adjunctive, symptom-based, and safety-dependent care, not a substitute for cancer treatment.
