I'm seeing a a growing number of people throwing shade at Elotes Doro and said they should have known better when they "used ShiftUP's Copyright from the start".
Well, I have a good memory, and I have been a fan of Elotes Doro since it opened. I keep receipts.
Doro/Dororong was fan creation, and it had gained fame and popularity on a global scale with most people who know of Doro not even aware that it is based off the character Dorothy.
Elotes Doro, was created and opened September 2024.
ShiftUp formally negotiated the purchase of the IP of Doro/Dororong on August 2025.
Elotes Doro existed a YEAR before ShiftUP even owned the full rights of Doro. Elotes Doro continued to operate a YEAR after they got the Copyright.
ShiftUp for over TWO YEARS didn't care about Elotes Doro, but strangely when some Sony Exec took a ShiftUP position, a position that specialises in "Global Communication"...Elotes Doro got forced to change everything by ShiftUP.
You want to talk legality and how ShiftUP has the right to threaten Elotes Doro to chance their branding, sure its their legal right.
But in terms of fandom and community goodwill, something that ShiftUP NEEDS...
What Jerome Benzadon did on behalf of ShiftUP - is scummy and trash. Throw a little money, hire a few lawyers, bully a random small business in Mexico selling snacks to change the entire identity of their business for TWO YEARS.
What GREAT work you are doing Jerome, if being Head of Global Communications involves alienating your employer's fanbase and destroying goodwill.
Imai Asami discussed her experiences rerecording for STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT as Makise Kurisu.
Instead of just recreating her original performance, she voiced Kurisu based on her deepened understanding of the character that she voiced for 17 years.
When Imai originally voiced her, she didn't fully grasp the overall storyline of STEINS;GATE and admitted the script was difficult especially since she was given only scenes where Kurisu appears. She felt a lot of pressure having to portray Kurisu, who was a genius that understood various theories and used a lot of technical terms.
She specifically recalled the lecture scene at the beginning of the game. At that time, Imai looked up the meanings of various terms in a desperate attempt to act as if she knew everything. She also wanted to make sure it was a scene that players don't skip over because her portrayal was too boring.
Now with RE:BOOT, Imai felt more confident portraying the genius side of Kurisu. Instead of simply explaining complex stuff, she can now properly convey the feelings of a genius scientist based on her own understandings.
When rerecording, Imai struggled on whether to portray the original Kurisu, or a Kurisu culminated from 17 years of experience. Ultimately, she chose the latter.
She also discussed how in the original STEINS;GATE, the cast members recorded their lines individually without knowing each other's performances. This time, because they worked on this series together for so many years, Imai can record these lines while perfectly imagining the voices of the other cast. Because of that, Kurisu's exchanges with Okabe Rintarou have now synced to an entirely new level.
For Imai, RE:BOOT is not just a rerecording of the same story, but a work that reflects the deep understanding the cast has cultivated over the past 17 years.

🔥A Resident Evil 3 Remake mod bringing back the original game is gaining attention — here’s what we learned.
Resident Evil 3: Last Escape isn’t just another gameplay or difficulty mod. Its creator aims to transform Resident Evil 3 Remake into a much more faithful recreation of the original game.
👀The story behind the project is just as interesting. The creator isn’t a game developer, he’s a professional chef. Like many Resident Evil fans, he was disappointed by the remake’s short length and how much content from the 1999 original was left out. That disappointment inspired him to begin learning how to mod the game.
He spent nearly a year and a half studying tutorials, documentation, and forum guides before finally starting work on the project. He understood that another Resident Evil 3 Remake was unlikely to happen within his lifetime, so instead of waiting for something that would probably never come, he decided to build his own vision.
❗️What makes Resident Evil 3: Last Escape stand out is the sheer scale of the project.
The mod is expected to expand Resident Evil 3 Remake by more than 60%, largely through new playable locations. During development, the creator learned how to import virtually any location from any RE Engine game and make it fully functional with lighting, collision, doors, locks, items, resources, puzzles, enemies, and music. The project will also introduce new Nemesis encounters and boss fights, redesigned item placement and progression, brand-new puzzles and gameplay mechanics, and a reworked crafting system featuring multiple new gunpowder types. Everything has already been successfully implemented and confirmed to work reliably.
🧐He also learned how to create completely original locations that don’t exist in any RE Engine title. This will allow him to recreate several streets from the original Resident Evil 3 by transforming its classic pre-rendered backgrounds into fully explorable 3D environments. Everything described above has already been tested and confirmed to work.
The long-term goal is to restore much of the original game's storyline through new cutscenes recreating events from Resident Evil 3 (1999). Confirmed additions include the fully playable Uptown, Clock Tower, Park, Cemetery, Dead Factory, and R.P.D., along with a working Ink Ribbon save system and other content cut from the remake.
👍One detail many fans will appreciate is that Resident Evil 3: Last Escape is planned to be released completely free of charge.
The growing interest in the project once again shows how many fans remain dissatisfied with Resident Evil 3 Remake. Each new YouTube update draws thousands of views, while the comments are filled with fans supporting the creator and praising the project's vision.
❤️For many fans, it remains their favorite game in the series, and they continue to hope that one day it will receive the faithful, ambitious remake they believe it deserves. If Resident Evil 3 Remake were ever given a more faithful and ambitious reimagining on the level of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, many players would likely be happy to buy it again.
The next major development update is expected in about a week, with a new YouTube video showcasing the project's latest progress.
