You can take $100,000 from American banks at 0%, move to Medellín, live in a penthouse for $2,500 a month, and if the business dies and you never pay back a dollar, nobody can arrest you

Owing a credit card company is a civil debt. There's no warrant. Interpol doesn't care about your Chase Ink bill

12 months of rent, food, a cleaner and a coworking desk: about $30,000

That leaves $70,000 to build the thing

In Miami the same year costs $90,000 before you've spent a dollar on the business

"so what actually happens if I never pay"

Day 30: late fee, and the 0% is gone. The balance starts charging full interest
Day 60-90: it hits your personal credit report. Your score drops 100+ points
Around day 180: the bank charges it off and sells it to a collector for pennies
After that: calls, letters, maybe a lawsuit. If you don't show up they win by default
With a judgment they can go after US wages and US bank accounts
Collectors settle for a fraction of the balance all the time, and the forgiven part can show up as taxable income
The clock to sue you runs out in 3 to 6 years in most states
7 years after the first missed payment, it falls off your credit report

That's the whole list. Your credit is wrecked for years and you get sued in a country you don't live in

One line you don't cross. Taking the money while planning to never pay it is fraud. A business that failed is a business that failed. Know the difference before you apply

Knowing the real worst case is what lets people take the shot

Setting it up before you leave:

1. Get approved while you're still in the US. US address, US phone, US bank account
2. Keep a US mailing address. A virtual mailbox scans your mail for about $15 a month
3. Keep your US number on a cheap plan. Every bank texts you a code to log in
4. Autopay the minimum on every card from business checking

Americans get 90 days on arrival and can extend to 180 in a year. Colombia also has a digital nomad visa. You still file US taxes

The 12 months:

Months 1-3: build. Your clients pay in dollars, you spend in pesos
Months 4-9: revenue covers the minimums, then the rent, then the balance
Month 10: whatever is left moves to a fresh 0% card
Month 12: you own a business and you still live in a penthouse

Most people never start because they think the worst case is prison. The worst case is a bad credit score in a country that's never heard of FICO

This is truly a great man. He has invested more in Ukraine than 185 countries combined.

Meet Howard Buffett, Warren Buffett’s middle son. He is 71 years old. He dropped out of college three times. He drinks Dr Pepper and looks for a McDonald’s wherever he travels.

Since the beginning of the war, his foundation has become the largest private donor to Ukraine: $1.4 billion.

Over four years, he has personally visited Ukraine 27 times.

In April 2022, he saw burned-out agricultural machinery and called the president of John Deere:

“How many combines are available in Europe?”

“Fifteen. All of them were supposed to go to Russia.”

“I’ll take them all.”

Then came all the available New Holland equipment in Europe. Altogether, more than 100 tractors and combines were provided to Ukrainian farmers.

He even tested demining equipment himself - on his own farm in Illinois, detonating explosives beneath rollers. When a Ukrainian deputy minister expressed doubts, Buffett told him:

“Stop counting my tractors. If necessary, I’ll blow up a thousand of them.”

Andriy Stavnitser initially asked him for $1 million for Superhumans. Buffett asked how much was needed to build the entire center.

“$14 million.”

“Okay. And what do you expect in return?”

“Nothing. Build it.”

Today, his support for Superhumans has reached $77 million, and the center has treated more than 1,700 patients.

But his largest area of spending is neither agricultural machinery nor prosthetics.

It is food: 642 million meals.

And that is only part of it:
* 344,000 windows replaced after Russian attacks;
* 9 bridges, 4 power plants, 2,500 generators, and 18 DNA laboratories;
* Much of Bucha rebuilt with his funding.

“I already have more friends in Ukraine than I do at home,” he says.

He celebrates birthdays in Ukraine, comes for Christmas, and even has a Ukrainian godson.

Friends, this is truly a great man - someone who understands that he cannot take all his money with him when he leaves this world.

I simply want to thank him and wish him well.

Whatever else one may say, this is real help from a person who had no personal obligation to Ukraine.

He simply chose to help.

Nous en sommes EXACTEMENT LÀ... 🤬🤬🤬

« Une fois élu, je deviendrai végétarien. »
