Meet Ashley Boehringer. She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Weinberg Center. Ashley is involved in several projects, including collecting and analyzing patients’ bio-fluids and skin cells used in the lab to identify markers of disease progression.

I was initially diagnosed last July 14 at Jefferson. Over the course of the next month, my wife and I secured a second, third and fourth opinion. Accepting the diagnosis was really challenging. This said, by October, we decided that rather than focusing on what ALS might 1/5
signed a one year lease on an apartment. We now spend our days taking long morning walks, eating great food, learning Spanish, having weekly dinners with mom, relaxing on the beach or the deck of our apartment and enjoying Mazatlán’s famous sunsets. 4/5
Brittany is currently a medical student at Thomas Jefferson University, since publishing Stop Requested: A Collection of ALS Poetry in 2019 we wanted to follow up to see how the impact of her experience with ALS patients inspired her to be a better future physician. #ALSAwareness
Ever cheerful and engaging with everyone she interacts with, Sindhu displayed great perseverance during her master thesis work and application process for graduate schools. We will miss her but wish her the best in her next endeavor!
