Finally here.

After 1 year of writing on X, here I am for the first time in my life in Japan!

This is only my second day, yet it's been so packed that I haven't had time to write. Perhaps tomorrow will bring more down time to share what I've seen these few days!

My day job is in Japanese film production, such as screenwriting, which I will be engaged in as usual today. I thought perhaps you might be interested in the structure of a Japanese film script, which is very different from the western counterpart.

My visit here in autumn was quite tranquil; the grounds were void of tourists in the moments leading to closing.

Maybe visiting in a different time of quiet provides a different form of amazement!

Have you ever been too Shitennoji in winter?

It's a nice time to visit this famous Osaka shrine since the grounds are quiet and peaceful, somehow more so in the cold❄️

The two Kyotos: Shimogawa Shrine slammed for "hatsumoude" (first shrine visit of the year) and zero people at all at the relatively nearby Jozen Temple

"Kyoto is busy/crowded" basically applies to the top dozen sites in the city. Totally understandable to want to see those places if you rarely make it to Kyoto, but there are hundreds of beautiful temples and shrines that are nearly empty most of the time.

Pepper Lunch's rice sets are crazy good; gotta say the same for its noodles.

Even if it doesn't match up to the genuine article, the instant noodle version is up there in taste (made another after messing the first one up😅)

Shinsaibashi definitely lives up to its hype: books, apparel, lifestyle, cosmetics and much, much more are all here, along one street!

Found my potential favourite book store ever here; time to control the urges. The rest of Osaka awaits tomorrow!
