The Weld Trust has granted The Mexica Center $100,000 for its youth athletic program. This money provides boxing memberships for youth ages 4-18. These classes offer recreational opportunities for kids in a safe, supervised environment.

Lutheran Family Services recently used a grant from The Weld Trust to bolster transportation for refugee youth and families for educational activities. LFS saw 93% of their students participate in extracurricular activities and a 220% increase in parents attending conferences.
Coal Creek Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals to Weld County residents in Erie. With a recent grant, CCMOW served 8,540 meals to Erie residents.
The Weld Trust awarded its largest ever grant of $25 million to UNC to open the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Construction is coming right along and classes will begin Fall 2026.

Dayspring Christian Academy has created a new space for students to connect, enjoy a treat, and build life skills—made possible in part through a grant from The Weld Trust. The student-run coffee shop offers internship credit while teaching real-world business skills.
Through The Weld Trust’s capacity building services, qualified professionals can apply for a stipend to attend courses through Aims Community College’s Nonprofit Leadership Academy.

It’s been one year since UNC opened the Bear Pantry in its larger space—made possible in part by a grant from The Weld Trust. “If students are going hungry, they’re not going to be successful,” said Taylor Schiestel, Director of the Center for Student Well-Being.
