@maitlis we all know you're an amazing interviewer - I just watched your interview with the independent ex-Reform MP and how you kept your cool and did not rise to the constant needling from him was utterly amazing. My fangirl points for Maitlis just went up.
@LucyGoBag That's so bonkers, what if someone moves from Yorkshire to Buckinghamshire, are they strangers? What about Calais, which is probably nearer? Strangers? If you haven't met someone....stranger? Keir is a lawyer, how is he defining this?
I went to see @jimmycarr last night and felt sorry for him doing his second show of the evening and his voice suffering, here's what I thought: https://t.co/WtWBzgscHq
I am liking an retweeting for reasons other than winning the book - it is because I support Sue Cowley's ideas about education and her hints to teachers got me through my NQT year (a long, long time ago).
I'm doing a #giveaway of my latest book to celebrate the Bank Holiday weekend! *Like and retweet to enter.* Winner announced Monday evening.

@Nervana_1@jonsopel I'm afraid I feel compelled to leap to @jonsopel's defence here as a fellow state school and Southampton University graduate - we are simply not the 'elite'. Check his background. You don't need to pay for education in this country - you can and people can choose to.
@bishakali a thing popped up on Facebook from about 12 years ago in which I had declared that you and Sindhu V were the ones to watch as the most talented 'emerging' artists/writers....and I thought 'I wonder what Bisha is doing'. Then I watched Black Mirror & realised - wow!!
@RogersHistory Yes, I totally agree - in the sense that everyone can do something helpful/useful/satisfying/meaningful and education should be a journey of discovering what those options are - and not learning to comply and tick boxes.
@essiefox Thanks Essie, I hope you have a great day - I would much rather be at your book launch! All very best for it.....I know what I'll be reading next week.
I dreamt about my late son. He was nervous about his first day working on a building site. I slapped him on the back. He pretended to fall over, lifted me up and swung me round. A stranger said , Leave him alone. Son said, It’s ok, he’s my Dad.
Who is this fella, you say? Well, it's Graham Watson, author of the brilliant book, The Invention of Charlotte Brontë that we speak to on the latest episode of She Wrote Too https://t.co/BfFNzMnjid
@hering_david there were so many great writers at that time - we talk about them on She Wrote Too, the podcast (shameless mention) but I genuinely believe women should have a wider sense of legacy because that reflects the reality!
BREAKING: Miles Taylor - Chris Krebs - two former Republican officials - are being investigated for criticising Trump in his first term. There is no legal basis to pursue any investigation.
This is grim. Political bullying. And a violation of the US constitution. 🧵
