i miss the bts i used to love. the bts that stood up for what was right, the bts that didn’t brush real issues under the bus. the ai shit plus this chris brown concert genuinely has me feeling nauseous. i trusted them…
friendly reminder that you can love bts with all your heart and also be disappointed in them. that doesn’t change what you think of them, but being angry at their actions is totally valid. y’all are not any less of a fan for standing up for what’s right
knowing your fandom is 90% women… and going out of ur way to attend a chris brown concert, lord take me i’m ready like idek what to say to this i am a woman before anything and theres no way namseok did not know, taekook listening to it casually was bad enough but attending
Fuck Chris brown, fuck usher and fuck Gemini AI. BTS I love y’all, I do. BUT DO BETTER. as someone who is an artist who hates AI & as a woman who was harassed by men, I’m disappointed.. so I’m holding them accountable, BTS DO BETTER. (ACCOUNTABILITY IS NEVER A FORM OF HATE BTW..)
BTS’s fandom is predominantly women who find comfort in their art. Many of those women have been exposed to violence in their homes and communities.
BTS are not responsible for fixing every individual woman’s life or saving the world. But you cannot be out there vibing with, tagging, and publicly supporting a man who has assaulted multiple women.
Because the message that sends is that this behavior has NO real consequences as long as you’re talented at something else.
Everyone who follows me knows I get called a “HYBE ass-licker,” “BPD defender,” and whatever else because I ALWAYS defend BTS and even HYBE.
And I do. I’ll keep defending them in the future when the criticism is ridiculous. But in 9 years of being in this fandom, this is the FIRST time I’m genuinely DISAPPOINTED.
And I’m not going to hide that.
Welcome to the artistic process. Lol
It's a never ending cycle. Your tastes will always be out of reach and part of being an artist is still creating despite that. Your taste will always be killer.
i cannot express to you how bizarrely large the rewards of consistently writing opinionated + technical essays are. it is good for your own brain, it is good for your life, and it is—i am increasingly realizing—good for society at large. the best part about it is that if you take it seriously, you have virtually no competition. this is not true for almost anything else! for most other things worth doing due to their unreasonable benefits, you not only have to take it seriously, but you also have to have a natural or learned talent for it. this is not true for writing! any monkey with the capacity to speak at all has all the talent they need to do useful writing. the rewards are basically guaranteed too; i struggle to name even a single person who walked this path and didn't end up somewhere dramatically more interesting than where they started. yes, it's hard, but it's really not that hard. you just need to try once, and then try again, and then again, and then it will feel like a normal part of your day
