I've always maintained that most guys don’t need more clothes, they just need a better system.
So I put together a simple framework to evaluate, edit, and curate your wardrobe, making the process of getting dressed enjoyable.

I'm a firm believer in pea coats requiring boots.
Not that you can't ever do a sneaker - just not a basketball sneaker. A better option would be a minimalist style full grain leather/suede sneaker.
Otherwise, stick with boots or even dress footwear.
The less time you spend on your smartphone, the better you feel.
And you don't need to completely cut out your smartphone use.
In the study below they compared those that completely abstained from using their smartphone for 7 days vs those that cut back by 1 hour.
Those that cut back by 1 hour saw the same positive benefits, and in some areas (like cigarette smoking), they even more benefit.
When you say you don’t have time to exercise, make healthy meals, read books, walk 10k steps, socialize with friends etc.
Recognize that the typical smartphone user is on his device for three hours per day.👇
How are you spending your time?
If you're looking for a great affordable option I recommend checking out Quince (affiliate): https://t.co/IYsIDmCT75
$200 for a 90/10 wool/cashmere blend. Design specs are on point. Nice generous sized collar too. Go with the navy, black, or charcoal grey colorways.
Pea coat season.
Yes, I've had the same pea coat for nearly 10 years. And it's not even an expensive one (it's the Doyle pea coat from MERC).
I might finally replace/upgrade this piece this year, although I still love it because of the contrast tartan lining.
Even inexpensive items can last a long time provided you take good care of them. I always tell my clients and readers that you should treat whatever you buy like a luxury item. Take proper care and you'll be surprised at how well it holds over time.
If you don’t own at least one pair of well-fitted, high-quality dark denim jeans then you’re doing it wrong.
There’s a reason they made my list of the 5 Wardrobe Essentials Every Man Needs.
I cover all of the 5 essentials in my free video which you can grab here: https://t.co/bEpAjcgjlj
If you don't know the difference between a flat cap (which is what Daniel Craig is wearing below) and a newsboy, here it is:
The main differences come down to the following:
Crown shape
Panel construction
Top button
The newsboy is in a 8 panel construction, it has a fuller, more rounder fit.
A flat cap is just 1-2 pieces, sits lower on the head and is generally "leaner" - I like this option as I find it's a bit easier to wear for most men.
Flat cap style👌
If you're in your 40s or 50s and beyond consider this option instead of a ball cap. A bit more mature and "grown up" and arguably just as easy to wear.
I'd recommend a flat cap over a newsboy as it's got a lower profile and cleaner silhouette.
Yes, this is Sean Connery playing tennis back in the 1970s.
And yes, he's wearing a pair of Stan Smiths.
One of the greatest court style sneakers of all time.
Lesson?
Wear more court style sneakers. Literally one of the best options for your casual fits when you want footwear that is comfortable, durable, and stylish.
Wear more court style sneakers.
These are what you turn to when you want something that's comfortable, easy to wear, stylish, and you can get some serious steps in.
Adidas Stan Smiths are my favs (affiliate): https://t.co/xktRohyz1Z
Are we doing cargo pants in 2026?
I think you can - but you have to nail the fit. I suggest a more fitted, streamlined look. Paired with some good boots (preferably some desert boots of chukkas).
For Ben Affleck the tweak I'd make is going a bit shorter in length with the cargos (looks like the inseam is just a bit too long for him, resulting in a "stacked" or bunched look).
Tying the laces on the boots would help too😆
The sweater is legit, although no undershirt is needed and I wouldn't be so aggressive pulling up the sleeves. They don't need to come up to your elbows.
Otherwise, I dig the fit.

Blundstones (or even a pair of Barbour's Hale Chelseas) really are the ultimate "Dad Boot"
It's what I recommend for Dads that need something durable, lightweight, weatherproof, easy to wear and stylish.
This is how I will be doing it once the weather gets more nasty:
Cotton fleece sweatshirt (provides more warm vs French terry)
Dark denim jeans
Blundstones (can handle the rain and muck better than sneakers)
Parka for warmth (for the cold and rain)
The 10 second rule - you can use this to cut back on your mindless scrolling.
But you can also use it to prevent you from mindless snacking too. The next time you feel that urge for a cookie, chips, a donut, or some other unnecessary snack just pause and count slowly for 10 seconds. Then purposely decide if that snack is something you still need right now.
This is basically mindfulness 101 btw. You're becoming aware of habitual thoughts and patterns, and that awareness allows you to cut through them and make better choices.

Wear more Barn style jackets.
Harrison Ford from back in the 1980s.

Back in the day, Levi's was sourcing it's denim fabric from Cone Mills & White Oak plant in North Carolina.
The plant closed down in 2017 - and Gustin ended up buying up as much of their "deadstock" denim fabric.
This is the fabric they are using for their 1968 selvedge denim👇
Which they put on sale for $99 (affiliate): https://t.co/bC1y7KEcRF
Huge deal - it is a pre-order though, but you can return/exchange as well. Great deal on some American made selvedge denim using some legit fabric.
For those that want to know - Jeremy Allen White is wearing the Barbour Ashby.
Quince actually makes a nice affordable alternative that is similar in design/aesthetics.
Jeremy Allen White with the Barbour Jacket (and quarter zip) in The Social Reckoning.👌
I'm Bullish on Barbour Jackets. Incredibly versatile and easy to wear.
You can wear fuller cut, more classically inspired dress slacks.
But you still want to maintain clean lines. Just like Matt Damon below.
Matthew McConaughey's slacks are just a bit too oversized/drapey.
It is legit. And what makes the Bond pea coat from Billy Reid special are the peak lapels (as opposed to notch) - peak lapels are considered more formal.
Also, the more trimmed down, streamlined silhouette. The leather detailing on the underside of the collar.
Just elevates the pea coat nicely without straying too far from its origins.
Made in Italy as well.
@WellBuiltStyle I cannot tell you how many times I get complimented on my Billy Reid peacoat (navy blue Bond). Had it for years. An absolute work horse
Style advice:
Sometimes a new scent is worth more than a slew of brand new pieces. If you feel like something is missing from your wardrobe or you're feeling the itch to add more clothing or items, consider just changing your scent.
@Jayyanginspires I need to start planting more seeds...not only does it potentially open up more opportunities but the mere ACT itself of planting these "goodwill seeds" just makes you feel better.
