Announcement! 📣 If anyone in the Dyfi area wants to spend two hours learn about orchids, I'm running some tours of the amazing ynyslas dune systems near Borth.

Dates are the 20th of May, 7th and 24th of June and 1st of July.

The bee orchid at ynyslas, yep THE bee orchid, there really is only one at the moment! But it is always the highlight of the orchid tour all the same

At West Williamston, @WTSWW, only 7 bee orchids noted. In the meadows some very nice southern marsh and common spotted, the early purple appear to have done well, lots of seed pods developing. @welshorchids @BSBICymru

4/6/23 Cumbria - I’m yet to see a Frog #Orchid this year. Am going to struggle if idiots keep digging them up. Good luck growing this effectively monocarpic species 🙄 Think before sharing sensitive information, and if it doesn’t need saying - then don’t say it #wildflowerhour

Late to Dowrog common Pembs, the heath spotted starting to go over but early and southern marsh looked magnificent in the evening light. @welshorchids

Well darn, just missed the flowering Caldrist Culddail (sword leaves helleborine). But great to see double the number of plants on last year!

Skrinkle haven Pembrokeshire, not convinced about the parentage of some of the orchids, the southern marsh are looking good with a few early purple hanging on but uncertain on some of the spotted orchids. @welshorchids @PembsCoast

These Snowdon lily-G. serotina didn't flower last year but are now. They're surprisingly early too given the cold spring. They usually flowerearly June. We passed them on our descent into Cwm Idwal #lloydia @NatResWales @BSBIbotany @BSBICymru @PlantlifeCymru @Love_plants @cofnod
