@ollie_sept@NoFilterSkin Hibiscus tea actually stimulates blood flow. For menstrual flow, it increases the volume or prolong the days or both, so personally I don't take it during or when menstrual period is approaching.
Your liver has been quietly forgiving you for years. That mercy is running out.
It doesn't complain. It doesn't warn you with pain. It just keeps absorbing the damage; until one day a lab result tells you what it's been trying to say all along.
Nigerian LIVER's worst foods🧵👇
Can they bring back the days of ogi and drinking omidun as juice, simple cooking, and simple living?
The days when iru was part of our soup ingredients.
The days when we had pepper, tomatoes, and other vegetables growing in our backyards.
The days when amunututu would grow and tangle itself around the fence.
The days when we used fresh, unripe pepper to make rice stew instead of tin tomatoes.
The days when we spread our lafun outside and ground it ourselves, instead of buying the preserved ones.
Clay pots cooked our food and gave us cold drinking water.
All these are not signs of poverty. They are ways of life that we have neglected.
I am just tired 😞😞
I hit the jackpot today in Italy. Straight came up on REAL fruit, the kind I ate as a child and teenager back in the 1970s and 1980s. Even SEEDED grapes (purple and green ones).
This is a big deal to me because I haven’t had seeded grapes, especially purples ones, in almost two or two and a half decades. I did have organic seeded watermelon this summer (back home/U.S.) but it wasn’t sweet like the watermelon in Italy. Not even close.
I bought damn near every fruit in that store. 😂 Watermelon (already cut), cherries, apples, oranges, grapes (green and purple), peaches, apricots, etc.
Every single fruit was seeded, the way it’s supposed to be according to Nature herself, and even the Bible (for those who are of an Abrahamic faith), as per Genesis 1:29.
Glad I saw this store while riding around today.
😊😊😊
I want to be direct with you about something.
The platform you're reading this on was engineered to exploit your dopamine system.
Not accidentally but intentionally, by behavioral engineers who understood exactly what they were doing.
Every like.
Every notification.
Every scroll to see what comes next.
Small dopamine releases enough to keep you returning, not enough to satisfy.
Chronic overstimulation of this pathway has documented consequences:
- Reduced dopamine receptor sensitivity (the things that used to bring you joy feel duller)
- Increased anxiety when separated from the device
- Reduced attention span with long-term heavy use
- Increased social comparison with all the mood consequences that follow
I say this not to be self-righteous. I'm on this platform. You're reading this here.
I say it because you deserve to understand what's happening in your brain and to make intentional choices about it.
One hour daily completely offline (no phone, no screen) allows dopamine receptor recovery.
Your brain was not designed for this level of stimulation.
It responds when you reduce it.
Give it a chance.
I’m a Nigerian wildlife photographer, and every one of these photographs was captured by me, right here in Nigeria. 🇳🇬📸
Through my lens, I hope to show you the beauty, diversity, and wonder of our wildlife—and remind us that these animals are part of our natural heritage.
I hope these images inspire you to appreciate Nigerian wildlife, learn more about the animals we share our country with, and, most importantly, protect them for generations to come.
Nigeria’s wildlife is worth seeing.
Nigeria’s wildlife is worth protecting. ❤️🇳🇬

Let me tell you something about the street food you've probably walked past a hundred times without thinking twice.
Asala (African walnut)
Boiled, sold in small packages in markets and bus stops.
Here is what it contains.
Tryptophan: the amino acid your body converts to serotonin. You cannot make serotonin without tryptophan. Your body cannot make tryptophan, it must come from food.
Magnesium: deficiency of which is directly linked in research to anxiety, poor sleep, and depression. Your brain's calming neurotransmitter (GABA) cannot function optimally without magnesium.
Omega-3 fatty acids: directly incorporated into the membranes of brain cells. The structure of your neurons is partly made from what you eat.
Complete protein: all 9 essential amino acids for neurotransmitter and brain tissue synthesis.
The woman selling Asala at the junction is running a mental health pharmacy.
She doesn't know it. Now you do.
