Wes Lanter was in charge of the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions when he posed Staying Together ("Stanley") for me for the book Standardbred Old Friends.

Stanley was blind by then, but he had complete trust in Wes. Wes had earned it.

Twain Islet in #MonoLake is an important nesting site for California Gulls, but in 2019 it was nearly covered in an invasive weed, which made nesting impossible. After prescribed burns in early 2020 Twain remains largely clear of weeds today!
