As a #kidlit reader AND writer, I’m infuriated and disappointed in @goodreads that they chose to remove one of the VERY FEW kidlit categories for the #GoodreadsChoice this year. You can’t have adult readers without child readers. Not to mention the lack of diversity as well…

Republicans say they’re “pro-life”.

It is not “pro-life” to force a 10 year old to carry her rapist’s baby to term.
It is not “pro-life” to let a starving child go without free lunch.
It is not “pro-life” to allow a doctor to refuse life saving medical care because of their moral beliefs.
It is not “pro-life” to consider the death penalty for anyone who has or performs an abortion or to let a woman miscarrying nearly die from sepsis before allowing treatment.
It is not “pro-life” to say that school shootings, mall shootings, shootings at the movies and at town parades are the ‘price we pay for freedom’.

The truth is this:
Republicans are pro-forced birth.
After that, you’re on your own.

George Santos lied about nearly everything he told voters about himself before he was elected

None of these politicians have been expelled from Congress, but two brave young men who spoke out against the gun violence claiming the lives of children in Tennessee were wrongly expelled.

We must make this moment count.

Anybody who is complacent about book bans, & censorship like, “oh it’s okay the kids can get them somewhere else it’s fine”, truly do not comprehend the extent to which democracy is presently under attack. Just because it does not affect you, does not mean that there is no effect

Republicans will force a 10 year old to carry her rapist’s baby to term, let a 6 year old carry a gun, permit a 12 year old to work an 8 hour shift in a meat packing plant and allow a grown man to marry a 14 year old with a Judge’s consent, all while telling us that the reason they’re banning drag queens, gender affirming care and books about Rosa Parks is because they want to ‘protect our kids.’

Bullshit.
