my debut novel PORTRAIT OF A THIEF is out now! this is the asian american art heist of my wildest dreams, featuring:
- college students stealing back looted art
- f&f-esque street races
- a critique of western imperialism
what a joy it is to share this story with the world 😭🎉
I know there was (finally) a Goodreads wrapped this year but My Year in Books delivers a flawless bookish wrapped that continues to serve year after year

Continuing the countdown to launch with more nice things that smart and successful and beautiful people have said about The Teller of Small Fortunes...
Thank you to NYT bestselling author @gracedli (Portrait of a Thief) for one of the earliest blurbs I received!
YES. There was a great exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art called “Guarding the Art”, where the entire collection was curated by the museum docents and guards (almost all people of color). They are the folks who spend the most time with the art, yet their wisdom is ignored!
I’m only 5 books into 2024, but @gracedli’s Portrait of a Thief is my favorite so far. Like any good heist novel it’s got action, romance, plot twists and lots of tension! https://t.co/57g2vZFuEC
