@lincscoop That’s great. Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in Friskney would like to send an invite for our Annual Mascot Race on Saturday 8th June. Please would you send me contact details
I’m a Paramedic.
Today, I’ve fed, watered and toileted patients in the back of a van.
I’m in the 14th hour of a 12 hour shift and 9th in the queue at a hospital it takes an hour to drive back from.
A job I used to enjoy, I’ve begun to regularly hate.
Jess Phillips, one of the most effective campaigners in Keir Starmer’s team - in a middle ranking role, doing important work protecting women against violence - has defied him by voting for a ceasefire in Gaza. Presumably he will now feel obliged to sack her. She has been such a powerful voice that this would be a serious loss to him
On November 7th, 1920, in strictest secrecy, four unidentified British bodies were exhumed from temporary battlefield cemeteries at Ypres, Arras, the Asine and the Somme.
None of the soldiers who did the digging were told why.
The bodies were taken by field ambulance to GHQ at St-Pol-Sur-Ter Noise. Once there, the bodies were draped with the union flag.
Sentries were posted and Brigadier-General Wyatt and a Colonel Gell selected one body at random. The other three were reburied.
A French Honour Guard was selected and stood by the coffin overnight of the chosen soldier overnight.
On the morning of the 8th November, a specially designed coffin made of oak from the grounds of Hampton Court arrived and the Unknown Warrior was placed inside.
On top was placed a crusaders sword and a shield on which was inscribed:
"A British Warrior who fell in the GREAT WAR 1914-1918 for King and Country".
On the 9th of November, the Unknown Warrior was taken by horse-drawn carriage through Guards of Honour and the sound of tolling bells and bugle calls to the quayside.
There, he was saluted by Marechal Foche and loaded onto HMS Vernon bound for Dover. The coffin stood on the deck covered in wreaths, surrounded by the French Honour Guard.
Upon arrival at Dover, the Unknown Warrior was met with a nineteen gun salute - something that was normally only reserved for Field Marshals.
A special train had been arranged and he was then conveyed to Victoria Station, London.
He remained there overnight, and, on the morning of the 11th of November, he was finally taken to Westminster Abbey.
The idea of the unknown warrior was thought of by a Padre called David Railton who had served on the front line during the Great War the union flag he had used as an altar cloth whilst at the front, was the one that had been draped over the coffin.
It was his intention that all of the relatives of the 517,773 combatants whose bodies had not been identified could believe that the Unknown Warrior could very well be their lost husband, father, brother or son...
THIS is the reason we wear poppies.
We do not glorify war.
We remember - with humility - the great and the ultimate sacrifices that were made, not just in this war, but in every war and conflict where our service personnel have fought - to ensure the liberty and freedoms that we now take for granted.
Every year, on the 11th of November, we remember the Unknown Warrior.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
Please report flooding to us through FixMyStreet. We’re monitoring the reports on FMS constantly, and it’s helping us know exactly where resources are needed, and we can pass to other services as necessary #StormBabet https://t.co/lFwjfn2W1c
Important. Pls spread word
100,000s of people, mostly women age 66+ who took were off work for childcare between 1978 & 2010, are due to get HMRC letter that may be worth £10,000s due to underpaid state pensions. It isn't a scam DON'T bin the letter. See https://t.co/5a9fNY8YFZ
BREAKING: In a devastating speech, iconic actor Robert De Niro rips Donald Trump to shreds, declaring that Trump is “not a bad man,” but “an evil one” who is a “wanna be tough guy” and has “no morals or ethics.”
But Robert De Niro didn’t stop there…
De Niro continued:
“Trump has no sense of right or wrong. No regard for anyone but himself — not the people he was supposed to lead and protect, not the people he does business with, not the people who follow him, blindly and loyally, not even the people who consider themselves his “friends.” He has contempt for all of them.
The repercussions of his turbulent presidency divided America and rattled New York City beyond imagination. Remember how we were jolted by crisis in early 2020, as a virus swept the world.
We lived with Donald Trump’s bombastic behavior every day on the national stage, and we suffered as we saw our neighbors piling up in body bags.
The man who was supposed to protect this country put it in peril, because of his recklessness and impulsiveness. It was like an abusive father ruling the family by fear and violent behavior. That was the consequence of New York’s warning getting ignored. Next time, we know it will be worse.
Make no mistake: the twice-impeached, 4-time indicted Donald Trump is still a fool. But we can’t let our fellow Americans write him off like one. Evil thrives in the shadow of dismissive mockery, which is why we must take the danger of Donald Trump very seriously.
So, today I issue another warning.
From this place where Abraham Lincoln spoke — right here in the beating heart of New York — to the rest of America:
This is our last chance.
Democracy won’t survive the return of a wannabe dictator.
And it won’t overcome evil if we are divided.
So what do we do about it? We have to take today into tomorrow – take it outside these walls. We have to reach out to the half of our country who have ignored the hazards of Trump and, for whatever reason, support elevating him back into the White House. They’re not stupid, and we must not condemn them for making a stupid choice. Our future doesn’t just depend on us. It depends on them.
Let’s reach out to Trump’s followers with respect. Let’s not talk about “democracy.”
“Democracy” may be our holy grail, but to others it is just a word, a concept, and in their embrace of Trump, they’ve already turned their backs on it. Let’s talk about right and wrong. Let’s talk about humanity. Let’s talk about kindness. Security for our world. Safety for our families. Decency. Let’s welcome them back. We won’t get them all, but we can get enough to end the nightmare of Trump.”
Well said, Robert De Niro!
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank Robert De Niro for calling out Donald Trump — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a woke new Twitter competitor that banned Trump for life and is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKjCwX
After a tough couple of weeks....(For many reasons)...
I was sitting on the northern line 🚇...the usual sight before me-people looking at their phones with earphones 🎧 in.... silence apart from the noise of the train rolling on the tracks...
Until the person sitting next to me says "hiya.... it's warm on here isn't it!?" 🥵
He's a fellow non Londoner...he asked about my job and what I do...he empathised ...he shared his understanding for how hard it is for us in education because his wife works in schools......
I ask about his job and he says "I'm the innovation director at Warburtons".....
I mean this was enough for me to completely malfunction...this has to be the best job in the world.(second to headship of course!)..
For the next 10 minutes we chat away until he says....
"Are you on LinkedIn?....give me your details and I'll send your school a few bits"
A few days later.... I'm informed by my office staff that there had been a delivery of 3 boxes....
The contents were... you've guessed it.... @Warburtons products.... products we gave out to our families.....some families who need this more than you can imagine!
This one single act if kindness has reduced (although only for a short time) stress and worry for some about where their next meals are coming from!
Thank you @Warburtons and to Darren! ❤️🍞❤️

Imagine there’s a bank robbery of multi billions of Pounds and everyone knows who it was.
The person who caused it and did it is the boss of that bank currently, he was cashier at the Till before.
All the customers quite rightly want their money back but the boss of the bank just bets on time and bets on the fact that the customers will forget the robbery of their life savings and that of their children over time.
He goes on and pretends nothing happened and all is fine.
Meanwhile everyone sees the friends of that boss buying Yachts, Lear Jets, Houses etc - AND they even donate some money to the party of that boss.
THAT my friends is what Sunak does in broad daylight with all the multi billions that he as chancellor diverted and sigelnd off via PPE VIP lane, private Health companies, hikes in energy prices , hikes in interest rates (yes, it was Bank of England blabla, I know , but the BOE reacted to the fatal budget and catastrophic decisions Sunak and Kwarteng and Truss made.
Do you see how Sunak bets on the stupidity and forgetfulness of the Public on one hand and on hardcore 1984 media propaganda as well as restrictions of all our long fought for human rights?
That’s why he is the most dangerous of all PM - and that means something when you have Truss crushing the economy, Johnson causing Covids 5th highest death toll in the whole world and Cameron causing catastrophic economic downfall and loss of freedom of movement and life across almost 30 countries.
Get this fraudster Sunak with his two faced robotic smile into the daylight and courts and then prison.
Someone who doesn’t hand over his WhatsApp messages in the Covid enquiry,
Someone who benefitted by millions of pounds from investment in Russia during this Ukraine war, someone who has shares in a Covid vaccine and then makes it happen that that one is introduced here, the one who actively crashed banks in the 2007 banking and economy crisis which cost many their livekihoods, the list is endlessly endlessly long. He is the biggest liar and cheater and Traitor the UK has seen for a very long time (well, except the PM’s of the last 13 years …)
A disgrace and an utter criminal who plays the system to perfections and we pay the bill by our hard worked money.
Vote them out of power and then prison for many of the Tories.

I've signed.
Rishi Sunak said this week that "nobody wants a general election".
Well it seems that more than 110,000 people do so far.

This was the last photo taken of Ben. He was getting to be a proper little boy, cheeky and fun to be with. Do you recognise yourself? If you think you could be Ben, please log your DNA #HelpFindBen
@VeryHelpers I need a proof of purchase for a Samsung tv bought from you approx 5/6 years ago. I can’t access my statements that far back. Can you help please?
Well played @Lionesses. Absolutely superb performance. A World Cup final. A World Cup final at football. It’s been a while. What a wonderful achievement. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I see Rishi Sunak is saying that he will reverse all the damage done to the UK by the Tories over the past ten years
Well... he would say that wouldn't he ?
He wouldn't say that the damage they've done is
irreversible
Not if he hopes to be elected again...
