Media Manager, Pakistan Football Federation
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Football Management Certificate Valedictorian • Arsenal and Sunderland ♥️🤍
We might be 201 in the FIFA rankings but we bagged #1 in the @theafcdotcom FMC 4 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
(Yes, I made history as the first Pakistani Valedictorian of the FMC)
@izeeshaan3 I’d say we have to go beyond factional politics for this. One of the key changes being proposed is elections by list. This will go a long way in ensuring stability.
I don’t enjoy the kind of sway among ExCo, Congress members that can change things. These are just personal notes
Pakistan football has been my life for the past few years and I’m incredibly privileged to be living my dream. And it’s days like the past two days where one feels that things are moving forward in a big way.
Some personal thoughts on the PFF Governance & Statutes Workshop:🧵
FIFA and AFC were clear that these changes are mandatory. To their surprise they found willing listeners who wanted to engage with them.
Irrespective of our differences we are all standing on the same page: Pakistan football today and forever 🇵🇰🦅#MohsenHaiTouMumkinHai
The most heartening part was ExCo and Congress members who had arrived with various misgivings left with food for thought about how to restructure governance.
We aren’t speaking of changing the constitution for one. We are talking about setting us up for the next few decades
@izeeshaan3 We welcome constructive criticism but also, keep the faith and trust the process. Inshallah this will be the golden era of Pakistan football and we will do everything in our power to make it so.
@izeeshaan3 3. The Media Director also represented the PFF and PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani in meetings with FIFA in the Ivory Coast and with UEFA in Kazakhstan. As a senior official of the federation his remit is much broader than other officials.
We are nearly there. Four events this week. Two national squads. Three events pencilled in next week. We are also working over Eid, sacrificing time away from our loved ones because our country needs us.
For the workload we managed we’ve done so with lots of care and attention.
Please name this “single man” and if you can’t, then you are laundering a factional talking point as criticism without having any context.
We know that the people feeding you this are a specific interest group whose main objective is to destabilise the incumbent PFF leadership
Before appointing a Director Media, Media Manager, and 2-3 Media Executives, a single man was managing a far better social media platform with higher-quality content, faster updates, and more consistent coverage of Pakistan football than the federation’s entire current media department.
This isn’t to say we won’t make mistakes. Of course we will: mistakes are only made by people doing something, not people spending their time in WhatsApp groups.
But professional systems and processes can only be installed after understanding our colleagues’ workflows and needs
