Sadistic rich GOP’s take pleasure in game hunting in Africa for the imagery of a white person killing what they view as exotic and wild. They smile in the pictures as a way to show dominance and the racists perceived supremacy via guns. It’s colonial glamping for dickheads.
I had another product launch today. I’m not a consumer PM, which means I don’t get to launch super often, so every time it feels a bit different. And I’m not going to talk about what makes a successful or unsuccessful launch. This thread is about feelings. 🧵
I have been discussing with a number of friends about their opinions on remote work vs. returning to office. So here is another thread about why #remotework is to stay and where we are going. :)
Do you know there are differences between positive compliments and sexual harassment?
Compliment: You did a great job on the presentation for the client this morning. I believe your efforts will pay off in closing the deal.
Sexual harassment: I loved the way you looked in the dress you wore to the presentation this morning.
This is not being too sensitive. Inappropriate "compliment" on a persons appearance can make them feel undervalued.
I talked to my dad regarding low CEO pay in startup culture. As a traditional business man, he said "its pointless. The truth is, even if you take less (minimum wage), the money you save is just a drop in the bucket for bigger investments." https://t.co/SrOmTgIxt2
Questions:
How to keep the emotional connection?
How to reduce harsher communication? Nail the why: why remote.
How to keep interactions?
What are the core things that bond us together?

managing remote teams
Remote work is great for IC and not so much for managers. Try to build trust without human contact is way more difficult. It’s kinda weird to think no one on my team have ever met any one yet🥲This is what I have learned.
- [ ] Dare to be more creative: there are freedom to create your own version work/career now as long as you hit targets.
- [ ] maintain consistent virtual social interactions to build trust.
- [ ] Written over spoken: write better to express and leave record.
- [ ] As the image of manager fades away, team members are more rely on themselves.
- [ ] Emphasize on Individual motivation as we have less culture influence.
