Olivia Wilde should have been nominated for Best Director on all three films that she has directed so far.
Yes, I’m including Don’t Worry Darling too because while I don’t think that movie is great, her direction is terrific. Wilde is one hell of a director and has made three very distinctive films.
The quartet of ‘THE INVITE’ will be submitted for Oscar consideration:
• Olivia Wilde - Best Actress
• Seth Rogen - Best Actor
• Penélope Cruz - Best Supporting Actress
• Edward Norton - Best Supporting Actor
Soooo fucking happy she’s had such a banner year. DWD… was what it was, but it’s clear atp that at least some of that backlash was from a smear campaign
Now she’s gotten to show us all that she’s one of the most compelling actresses we’ve got
Gilroy's Behemoth! is a gift to all of us who have found healing in movies & music. Intricate & elegantly playful, Pascal gives his best performance, O Wilde steals her scenes. The score, by the Behemoth! Collective of 9 master composers, is a cinema feat. Bravo, Tony! #NYFF
Behemoth! continues the Year of Olivia Wilde. She has a monologue midway through the movie that got an actual round of applause at tonight’s #NYFF premiere. I’m not sure the last time that happened at a movie, not a Broadway show.
BEHEMOTH! is an ambitious film that hit a few false notes for me. The score is tremendous and is implemented in a genius way here, but the script felt a tad too manufactured for my taste. I liked it, but I wasn't engaged until the last 30 minutes. Olivia Wilde's a scene stealer!
I NEED more people talking about Olivia Wilde in Tony Gilroy's Behemoth! She having a hell of a year. She has such incredible stage presence in this movie, ans simply steals every scene with just her stare. #Behemoth#Behemothmovie#NYFF#NYFF64
nothing short of thrilling, behemoth! is a stunning work that’s so tightly written it’s unbelievable. tony gilroy reveals just enough information to keep us hanging on til the next scene. pedro pascal is fantastic and olivia wilde is MAGNETIC. @TheNYFF@searchlightpics thank you
BEHEMOTH!- Pedro Pascal is stellar, a career best performance in Gilroy’s initially confounding, increasingly experimental and ultimately cathartic musical drama. Equally distant and electric. Olivia Wilde is incredible #NYFF64
Thoroughly loved Tony Gilroy’s #Behemoth. Pedro Pascal delivers a beautiful, internalized performance that ranks among his best work on film yet. Olivia Wilde eats up every morsel of screen time, channeling a little Cameron Diaz in “Vanilla Sky.” But the true star is the film’s music, an extraordinary achievement from nine talented composers.
