Examining Cardano Critical Integrations V2
We’re bringing together members of the Pentad for a focused discussion around the proposal’s governance structure, oversight mechanisms, and operational framework🧵
Cardano is better together, and this proposal can only pass with the support of the community.
The proposal deadline is today.
I am excited to join @IOHK_Charles and the ecosystem on the world stage at Cardano Summit 2026.
If you haven’t voted yet, I urge you to cast your vote for the revised Cardano Summit proposal: https://t.co/g24GrQiuAD
I hope to see you all in Singapore.
Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIPs) are how developers improve fundamental technologies and conventions on Cardano, just like BIPs for Bitcoin and EIPs for Ethereum. Open source, community-reviewed, and open to anyone with the knowledge and interest to contribute.

Cardano Governance, A Debate on NCL & Constitutional Clarity
———
Join us next week, March 18, 2026 at 15:30 UTC, for another Roundtable Talk.
Recent discussions around extending the NCL have highlighted ambiguities in how the Cardano Constitution is interpreted and applied. Central to this is the question of whether NCLs must be ratified before treasury activity, how Constitutional Committee participation affects validity, and whether interpretations are mandatory or optional for compliance.
Representatives from Constitutional Committees and influential DReps will share their perspectives in public so the wider Cardano ecosystem understands the stakes and the reasoning behind different views.
Participants:
@_KtorZ_, Individual (Matthias Benkort)
@phil_uplc, Individual (Philip DiSarro)

This week’s Community Digest is once again packed with ecosystem updates you might have missed.
Take, for example, Rare Network’s “Amplify Cardano” program that is opening new funding opportunities for projects. Ouroboros Leios continues its steady path toward mainnet, developers get updated API documentation with Cexplorer 2.0, and the community is invited to take part in several calls to action, from governance votes to feedback on IOG’s Cardano Vision 2025 and State of Governance reports.

WEQNT Stake Pool - 2025 Year in Review
As 2025 comes to a close, we would like to reflect on the progress, challenges, and impact made possible through the continued support of everyone staking with WEQNT.
Internet Infrastructure & Connectivity
The primary focus of our work in 2025 was the continuation and expansion of a project initiated in late 2023: the development of a fully operational internet service provider (ISP) serving northern Kenya.
This initiative was born out of a clear need. Internet access in the region is scarce, unreliable, and often prohibitively expensive, despite strong demand from young people, entrepreneurs, NGOs, and small businesses.
Key milestones achieved include:
• Deployment of two 30-meter communication masts equipped with radio transmission antennas
• Strategic placement of the second mast on land acquired within the UNHCR municipality in Kakuma, directly linked to the first mast located 15 kilometers away at Bishop @johneyanae5 premises
• Installation of over 10 kilometers of fiber-optic cabling across the city
• Onboarding of 40 active clients, with consistent growth and rising demand
This infrastructure has enabled the delivery of internet services at an exceptionally low price, fully funded through WEQNT and a personal loan. The aim has always been to impact lives where most needed
Energy Independence & Operational Resilience
To ensure reliability, we invested in a fully solar-powered energy system, complete with battery storage. Given the unreliability of the local power grid, energy independence was advised as essential to the success and sustainability of the ISP.
The total investment in infrastructure, energy systems, deployment and wages now exceeds USD 80,000 (since October 2023)
Growth Potential & Long-Term Vision
While the ISP represents a major achievement, it was never intended to stand alone. From the outset, the broader vision has been to establish a system capable of generating sustainable impact/income over time.
As the service matures, revenues can support additional initiatives such as:
• Micro-loans for farmers and small business owners
• Job creation and digital skills development
• Community-driven infrastructure projects for farmers and small businesses
• Broader efforts to stimulate local economic growth
In this way, connectivity becomes a foundation for wider opportunity. That is the vision and hop for the ISP!
The work in Kenya has been carried out mainly by local partners and a dedicated operational team. WEQNT was solely the fancier of the project. As is often the case with complex, long-term projects, the year also brought moments that required reassessment and structural team adjustment.
During 2025, changes within the team were made to strengthen governance, accountability, and alignment with the project’s core values. While transitions are never easy, these steps were necessary to protect the integrity of the mission and ensure long-term sustainability.
WEQNT Role
My role in this initiative was to financially bootstrap the system, and help define a long-term vision, one that the team fully embraced and put into practice.
To ensure the foundations were carefully established, I initially retained a majority stake in the ISP.
With the core infrastructure now in place and the vision clearly embedded, I have now instructed the company’s solicitor to transfer all of my shares to Bishop John who is best positioned to guide the ISP’s continued growth and day-to-day operations.
There has been no exchange of funds for my shares and repayment of the personal loan will take time, and that was always understood.
Beyond the ISP, Bishop John and I have agreed to continue the provision of solar lighting solutions in rural areas, work we have been engaged in together since 2020.
This progress and impact were made possible by your trust and support. This is not just our success—it is yours.
Thank you for staking with WEQNT.

How Cardano’s developer culture is changing | @SchlegelQuirin explains
“The onboarding experience used to attract people who liked difficult things and solving hard problems. That’s why so many good tools exist today. But now we need to appeal to developers who don’t want to fight complexity and expect things to just work.”

I hear you, Charles, and I agree, positivity matters. Since you brought this up, I think it’s also fair to ask whether this applies to all of us equally. The Cardano community is broad, and your voice has enormous influence. With that comes a responsibility to model the same energy you’re calling for.
It’s easy to point out the negativity in the space, but it’s just as important for each of us to reflect on how our own tone impacts the wider ecosystem. No one is above that, myself included. So if we’re stepping into 2026 with #positivevibes, I genuinely hope that includes letting go of old grievances and leading by example.
I respect you.

I said this once and I will say this again. Please give $USDM and NBX full support in Cardano. They are supporting us without extremely expensive off-chain deals that likes of Circle / USDC have to pay to be listed.
Not only we should try to use @nbxcom as much as possible (I am using it more and more and brinding USD liquidity in) but also we should mint $USDM. Once you mint $USDM, the team can earn yield on it via traditional banking and that way they can finance operations including listings on more exchanges and more robust systems as well as rollout across more US states.
For many people this is a bit personal with Matthew Plomin including myself but also as a bottom up movement (in general). Many of us knew him personally perhaps not me but I spoke with many that spoke very highly of him as a husband, a father and a leader.
