Sarah Michelle Gellar pays tribute to her "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" co-star Anthony Head following his death:
"'Tell Giles I figured it out and I’m ok’ Well I don’t have it figured out and I’m not ok. But I know I’m the lucky one because I knew you. Thank you to Daisy and Emily who not only shared their dad with me, but with the world."

Naming characters can be hard for authors and gamemasters.
One of the best jobs I've seen in naming fictional folk is Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship are Aragorn, Boromir, Frodo, Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Merry, Pippin, and Sam.
Only two of those names share an initial letter - Gandalf & Gimli. But those characters are arguably the two MOST disparate. In addition, "Gimli" has a completely different mouth feel from "Gandalf" so you're never confused.
Imagine if Merry was named "Peter" instead. You'd constantly be confusing Peter and Pippin, the two too-similar hobbits. Look at Faramir and Boromir - similar rhyming names helps us to remember they are brothers, but the different vowels and and first letter means we won't mix them up. When you rhyme Denethor, it doesn't exactly rhyme but the three-syllable "R" name makes it feel familial.

Not sure who's sillier on this site, Elon Musk for claiming history's most infamous far right dictator was a socialist, or the climate change sceptics for saying this temperature in May is fine because a few million years ago the surface of the planet was molten lava.
Last week I posted this about my wife. I have to point out that when we got married, I was in school to become a zoologist. The whole game design thing came out of left field.
She loves it though. Last Friday out of the blue she told the poor cashier at the grocery store that I helped Doom and Age of Empires. When we're together, she'll buttonhole random strangers and ask them if they've heard of Cthulhu, then credit me with Lovecraft's popularization (with some justice).
It's embarrassing but it's also neat to have a wife so proud of you. Particularly with the modern age's general (not universal) attitude towards husbands.
Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
