I wouldn’t have tossed him, no. But I will say — and I’m going to sound like an Unc now — kids today trash talk and taunt like crazy in all sports. I think it’s because they have basically outlawed fighting in sports. There’s no fear of asskickings any more.
I'll have much more on @AuburnBaseball later today. A few thoughts for now:
1 - Really impressed with Auburn's offensive length in the doubleheader. Felt like they were locked in offensively 1-9, and even having a versatile guy like Bristol Carter at the bottom is such a luxury.
2 - The knock against AU had been the lack of slug, and that looked like a powerful lineup yesterday. A lot of VERY hard hit balls - the top of the lineup, in particularly, crushed the baseball. Something to watch moving forward.
3 - Really impressed with Andreas Alvarez (on and off the field). Showed excellent stuff, SL gave RHH absolute fits, and he carried 94-97 throughout his seven-inning start. A lot of 97s in the win over the Aggies. Was also excellent in post game.
4 - Love the contrasting styles of arms with Alvarez, and then going to Jake Marciano/Jackson Sanders in the second game. Sat behind home plate for a bit, and it's very difficult to figure out what Marciano is throwing out of his hand. When you can mix and match multiple pitches, and the release looks the same, really difficult to square (as you could see by a lot of weak A&M hits). Sanders was up to 94 from the left side and showed some serious moxie.
5 - Freshman Ethin Bingaman is really locked in. Some excellent at bats throughout the day, and once again showed big-time power (after hitting multiple homers in a game last weekend). Chase Fralick also showed out - he absolutely destroyed the baseball in both ends of the doubleheader.
6 - Something I always love looking for - clubhouse/bar fight vibe. Auburn has that. Super loose team that has a lot of fun, but also is very intense in-game as well. An extremely likable group of players/coaches.

Is it worth two Final Fours if it means you’re forced to make a nepo hire that you’ll probably have to clean up in three years? Interesting test case at Auburn.

@BridgetPhetasy@SethAMandel They may be just stupid. I also think there’s some hubris that comes along when you think the media will cover for you no matter what.
