It's time for a shift.
Let's go from "What's wrong with you?" to "What happened to you?"...From fixing people to empowering people...From writing prescriptions to supporting choices...From seeing deficits to enabling strengths...
That's the kind of healthcare system I dream of!
‘We didn’t get in this job to walk away from this, we got into this field to help,’ ER #nurse spends entire #pregnancy working the #COVIDー19#frontline | https://t.co/DWe9h4v7qT https://t.co/jSqxlIO6Ft
Since March, teams on the frontlines of #healthcare have worked tirelessly against #COVID19—and the community we serve has been with us every step of the way.
Now and always, we're all in this together. 🙏💙

Last week, staff at THP’s Credit Valley Hospital knelt in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds to honour the life of George Floyd.
Thank you all for this show support against anti-Black racism in all forms. #WhiteCoatsForBlackLives#BlackLivesMatter
“The time is always right to do what is right.”
All of us have a responsibility to stand up, speak out and allow voices to be heard. No one left behind. #BlackLivesMatter

PTs & OT/PT assistants have been integral to our collective work against #COVID19. In addition to continuing regular work with ICU & acute care patients, many have been redeployed to contact tracing, screening, PPE coaching & more.
Thank you for all you do. 💙
85 year old David Stewart's honest, humorous and thoughtful account of living through a #COVID-19 outbreak at one of Ontario's worst affected homes. A must read + clear example why residents' voices are the most important in our long-term care homes.

What LTC does NOT need is less PSWs. More nurses yes, less PSWs, no. PSWs have an important role, and in some cases love their residents like family. They compassionately have continued to provide care and some have died for it. They have my complete gratitude for that.
A poignant editorial cartoon by @TheSpec's @MackayCartoons characterizing our @CanadianForces realization that WE Canadians have been our own worst enemies. Let’s not waste any more time and finally march together in the right direction to fix long-term care once and for all.
We were deeply distressed to read the Canadian Armed Forces' report about the conditions in five LTC facilities. This highlights longstanding issues nurses have been calling attention to for years. We need to see action.

Today is #PSWDay. Let's make 2020 the #YearofPSWs so that we can finally treat Canada's PSWs like the Heroes they Are - with living wages and full-time work with benefits like sick days and pensions that their hospital colleagues in Canada currently get. https://t.co/9Sh2wXi8oR
This 👇🏻is what motivates me 2 continue our work from #NurseHack4Health
Nurses & others are on the brink of mental, emotional, physical & spiritual exhaustion.
We have a moral imperative to support them.
