Today we launched the Great American Cotton Plan — a bold 4-pillar strategy to strengthen and secure the future of American cotton.
1️⃣ Promote American-grown cotton over foreign synthetic fibers and plastics
2️⃣ Expand domestic production and support U.S. textile manufacturing
3️⃣ Open new export markets and boost global demand for U.S. cotton
4️⃣ Protect growers from pests, trade pressures, and economic risk
From new trade agreements to expanded support for textile mills and increased global demand, @USDA, @SBA, and @HHSgov are working together to restore America’s cotton strength and competitiveness. Under @POTUS, American agriculture is back!! 🇺🇸💪👖
So far in 2026, we are off to one of the driest starts to a year across the Panhandles. Borger is off to the driest start on record and Amarillo would be in that spot as well, if it was not for a thunderstorm that produced 0.66" of rain back on March 4. #phwx#TXwx#OKwx

Higher prices are holding. It was a "refreshing" surprise to see USDA adjust projected abandonment up. That is more realistic than their typical 15% given weather conditions and sends a better signal to the market of what is more likely to be available in December. A downward adjustment to Brazil helps support a smaller supply as well. There is still a good bit of speculative support here, so floors to keep some of this price in case it goes down is still warranted.
Some where between midland Texas and Pueblo Colorado it might rain this week… maybe but probably not but we threw a green blob over the entire plains just in case so that we will be right regardless…
Wednesday will stay hot with highs in the 90s and some areas, like PDC, could hit 100°F. While rain chances remain around 20%, a marginal risk for severe weather is in place tomorrow afternoon and evening. Storm coverage will be isolated with hazards of damaging winds and hail.
@ICAC_TTU@OGTCHedger I will say… farmers are actually a little optimistic lol they believe it can’t be this dry much longer… I mean we haven’t received a real rain since October. It wasn’t even this dry in 2011…
I was recently a guest on the Working Ranch Radio Show, where we had a conversation about eminent domain. We discussed where eminent domain authority comes from, how the process works, and key considerations for landowners across the country.
