The tragic death of a Nigerian lady abroad

A Nigerian lady from Delta State who lived in Houston, Texas, died in her sleep in October this year.

The painful thing was that she was the only child of her mother, and the most painful was that she died at the age of 45, with no husband and no child.

I was told that she had a fibroid, went to the hospital where the doctor treated her, and asked her to go home. Later on, the fibroid came back, and she struggled with it until her demise. From my little knowledge of medicine, fibroids are noncancerous growths in the uterine muscle wall, and they are not usually fatal.

What could have killed her?

The day that she died, her old mother in Nigeria called her number several times but to no avail. She later called her friend and told her that she has been calling her daughter, but her daughter is not answering the call. The old woman begged her daughter’s friend to go check on her. When she got to her house, she saw her car parked outside, which means she’s inside.

She walked straight to her apartment and knocked at the door several times and even tried calling, but there was no response. She went to the leasing office and told them what was going on, and the leasing office had to call the police, who came and broke the door, and they discovered the lifeless body of the Nigerian lady who bled to death.

Why did she not call 911?
When the fibroid came back, did she refuse to return to the hospital?
Did they fire her an evil arrow?

These are the questions I have been asking myself whenever I remember her demise or whenever her Facebook profile pops up: I wonder what would become of her mother right now, being that she’s the only daughter, and she died at age 45, no child, no husband.

May her soul continue to rest in peace.
