It's so incredibly sad to see how immigration has been handled since this speech was given. All of these truths coexist:

- Border Protection is an issue of national security - and yet we allow tens of thousands in a day
- Legal immigration is vital to ensuring America's prosperity - and yet we are only allowing 85k legal immigrants in a year
- The United States has the infrastructure and resources to attract the world's leading minds
