It takes around 1000-1200Rs in Goa to travel around 30Kms. The cab would usually be rickety. And, would run on a gas kit.

(With no space in the boot to keep your luggage)

It takes 50 AED to do the same in Dubai (depending on the tolls) for the same distance. You are certain to get a spacious car. Which can hold 4 big pieces of luggage easily.

Easy to say: cab drivers in India are greedy.
But, if you look at the economics, they are not.

A Wagon R costs around 8L. The driver needs to fit a gas kit to save petrol (another 40-50K). Most of this money is borrowed between 9-12%.

Welcome to times: when Indians are now systematically paying more (for far worse quality) than their developed counterparts.
