The Discover Illinois 300 today has officially shattered the NASCAR cup series record for the most cautions per lap, with a whopping 18 over the course of the 240 lap race. That is one caution/red flag every 13.3 laps. The previous record (‘05 Coke 600) saw one every 18.2 laps.

Hey you again! Gerrymandering has actually been a thing since before Dems and Republicans even existed, however most experts agree that the turning point for it getting as bad as it is *now* is when REDMAP, a GOP led redistricting committee, hit the scene in 2010. The following election cycle in 2012 republicans won 33 extra seats in spite of pulling more than 1.5 million less votes. Now we have states like Texas where registered dems outnumber Republicans 3:2 but still can’t win. In Illinois, dems outnumber republicans 2:1, their elections reflect that. Your anecdotes mean nothing in the face of facts, data, and verifiable objective truths.

It’s also worth noting that divorce rates are very noticeably higher among couples who cohabitate prior to marriage. The reason is multifaceted and still being debated but a big thing experts point to is that sharing a living situation can make people stay in relationships they might not if they were independent for convenience. It’s a lot harder to dump someone you don’t love anymore when they’re covering half the bills.

This is why living with someone you aren’t married to can be such a massive headache. If they were married their money would be shared, there’d be no need to split rent when it comes out of the same joint account. I’d have no problem with the woman I’m married to contributing absolutely nothing financially to our situation if things got done at the house, I’d be fine with splitting house chores if both of us work and have a combined income, but it isn’t fair for one party to have to work and pay rent while the other gets to keep their whole paycheck to themselves and house duties are split. That isn’t a partnership, partners split burdens and rewards equally, otherwise it’s just servitude.

Because it isn’t incumbent upon you to worry about what grown, rational, free thinking adults just like yourself do on the internet, whether it is making or consuming that type of content. You aren’t in the wrong for stating your opinion, but you shouldn’t be surprised when people react adversely to you suggesting that their livelihood be banned outright. Nobody is forcing anyone to produce content (and if they do that’s already illegal) and nobody is forcing anyone to go look at it either. It’s just like profane music, violent movies, alcohol, etc. if you don’t like it don’t partake but don’t tell other consenting and free thinking adults what they can and can’t do unless it infringes on other people’s rights.

2. If you truly love your government you should be the first person to criticize it. Nothing ever improved because people sat back and said “that’s fine”

3. Constitutional rights aren’t reserved for citizens, it’s for anyone who is in the country. Rights are the reward you get for adhering to the law, and saying the government sucks is not a crime.
