🎄We all had a lovely evening of Christmas carols, mince pies & mulled wine last night at St. Mary's
It's the first time in over 14 years that the village has been able to hold a carol service indoors without worrying about whether the mince pies will get soggy in the rain! 🎄
The village Remembrance Service will be held this Sunday, 10th November, starting 10.45am at St. Mary's
We hope it will give everyone the chance to reflect upon those lost and injured in conflicts both near and far.
We are here again today (Sunday 8th September) until 3pm - we'd love to see you to distract us from doing more paperwork - although it's a very pleasant site to do work from! (1/2)
It's almost time for the #WestTorrington Summer Fete. This year, the theme is celebrating the community purchase of the church - which means we can actually run an event regardless of the weather as the area finally has an indoor community space again!

It was slightly less sunny yesterday than today, but a lot of work was done in the churchyard nonetheless. Thanks to everybody who came along to help & see the building open once again, we'll have another open day soon! #EastLindsey#lincolnshire#Charity#SavingBritainsHeritage
We will be having an open day on Bank Holiday Monday (27th May) from 10 to 3 and would love to see you there - the first time the building has been open for over a decade.
Thanks to each and every one of you - you've all been brilliant ❤❤❤

We. Have. Some. News........
This afternoon we finally completed the purchase of the closed church of St. Mary's. It's taken nearly 4 years of work and the community coming together but we are delighted to now say that we have #SavedOurSpace !

It's not one of the standard duties of a Trustee of our charity to wander over to the churchyard at almost midnight - but it seemed like a worthwhile endeavour tonight to see the #NorthernLights in the dark skies of #WestTorrington#Lincolnshire 😀
It's been another busy year in #WestTorrington. We've had some great events and met some amazing people who are passionate about supporting rural heritage and community projects like ours (1/3)
- hopefully 2024 will be the year we can complete the plan to #SaveOurSpace and bring back the former church to life again as a multi-use space to help everyone in the locality ❤️ (2/3)
'They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.'
(4th stanza, For The Fallen, Laurence Binyon)

📷📷📷📷The community library has had an upgrade! Please do come an borrow or add to the collection - we'll have lots more space for books once we've #SavedOurSpace and installed it in the former church, but for now we think it looks super 📷📷📷📷
We are looking forward to seeing you all for a mix of traditional village fete, dog show, games, stalls, car boot, food, bar, ice cream, and the inaugural West Torrington #Hammerschlagen competition 🔨🔨
