Thank you to all the families who supported our #NBSE@westwalkerpri this week. We had a range of activities going on and even a trip to St. James' Park! We are really grateful to have the @PE_SportService lead and resource the activities too!
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 18/19 academic year. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs.

@westwalkerpri took part in the TheDailyMileCelebration Day.
Evidence shows that a 15-mins of exercise, breaking up the normal school day, helps increase concentration and enjoy the associated positive physical and mental health benefits. #nosuchthingasbadweather

Well done to our cycling team at the @PE_SportService Cycling competition. Our boys' relay team came 3rd and Ana who came 2nd in the individual races. The children showed great bravery to tackle corners at speed and amazing stamina to keep pumping their legs. #itsallaboutthebike
Well done to our Athletics team who performed @MonktonStadium Jarrow. They competed in events such as: 80m Sprint, 800m, 80m Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Ball Throw and of course the relay!
Y6 started their Onside education programme with @NU_Foundation
Onside tackles discrimination and uses football to promote awareness of equality and diversity. The initiative aims to help primary school children discuss topics such as racism, sexism, religion and bullying.
