Honestly Nightmare on Elm Street remake was poorly made and the director saying it was gonna be so good that people would forget the original was saying a lot

The remake was just handed to the wrong studio and while Haley did a good job I don’t think I see him as Freddy

Also Freddy being homeless plays more into Wes’s inspiration for Freddy as he was inspired by a homeless guy Wes was scared of as a kid

The abusive father I can see but making Freddy kill kids in his basement instead of his boiler room defeats the purpose of the boiler room appearing in dreams
