People saying, “Don’t worry about Fedorov, he’ll have a great political future anyway,” are missing the point entirely.
People are not protesting for Fedorov’s political future.
They’re protesting because Fedorov, as Minister of Defense, gave them hope. Hope that Ukraine could adapt, innovate, protect its soldiers, and actually win this war. Hope that someone was finally thinking about how to save lives, not just manage the system.
This isn’t about one man’s career.
It’s about the loss of confidence that someone competent was in charge of the institution responsible for defending the country—especially with another brutal winter approaching.
People aren’t marching to save Fedorov.
They’re marching because they fear losing the hope that Ukraine can do better.
The way the EU measures "progress" in accession states is their reaction to replacing sex with transvestism in national legislation.
There is no way be both civilised enough to join the EU club while also resisting the erasure of women's sex-based protections. That's pretty fucked up

Today, something happened in Ukraine's Parliament that almost no one expected. Lawmakers failed to approve the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, even though Bankova had reportedly considered the vote all but secured.
Ahead of the session, there had been widespread speculation that enough votes had been gathered and that Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko would become the new head of the Ministry of Defense. However, the situation changed dramatically during the meeting.
After a brief speech by Fedorov, in which he highlighted advances in defense technology, military digitalization, and Ukraine's latest innovations, a lively debate broke out in the chamber. Many MPs—not only from the opposition but also from the ruling Servant of the People faction—argued that this was not the time to replace the country's defense minister while Ukraine remains at war.
When the vote was held, the required 226 votes were not there. Attempts to bring the issue back for another vote also failed, as lawmakers refused to reconsider it, effectively blocking the dismissal.
Political analysts point to several reasons. First, many MPs were unwilling to replace a technocrat associated with reforms and modern technologies with a representative of the security establishment. Second, Fedorov had gained support from Ukraine's defense industry, where many feared that a change in leadership could delay key projects. Finally, the vote once again demonstrated that the ruling majority is no longer as unified as it once was, with more lawmakers willing to vote according to their own convictions rather than political agreements.
If this trend continues, today's vote could become one of the clearest examples yet of Parliament increasingly asserting its independence in major personnel decisions.

On This Day — July 16, 1919
Ukrainian neighbors turned on the Jews with axes and swords.
In the small town of Slovechna, Jews and Christians had lived side by side for generations sharing courtyards and gardens. Their children played together.
Marko Lukhtans, a local who had fought the Germans in the Great War, would laugh when “Jewish geese” wandered into his yard or when the kids picked cherries from his trees. “So what do you care about the little Jews?” he’d say.
But on July 16, 1919, Lukhtans picked up a revolver and a saber and began massacring his Jewish neighbors.
Led by a 19-year-old local warlord named Kosenko, who spread rumors that the Jews were planning to close churches and execute priests, a mob descended on the town.
They smashed windows, looted homes with wheelbarrows and sacks, and killed with intimate brutality, including the use of axes, pitchforks, and sabers. Entire families were cut down in their homes.
The violence was personal. The killers were classmates, customers, childhood friends, and longtime neighbors.
This was but one of thousands of violent pogroms against Jews in the Pale of Settlement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The worst and most barbaric massacres took place during the Russian Civil War and the years surrounding it.
Tens of thousands of Jews were murdered in the most horrific ways imaginable. Neighbors turned on neighbors. Entire communities that had coexisted for generations were slaughtered.
The message was clear: Jews in Eastern Europe were scattered, defenseless sitting ducks at the mercy of whoever held power at any given moment.
It was this wave of unimaginable violence that helped drive the urgent Zionist call for a Jewish homeland in the Land of Israel. A refuge and a place where Jews could finally defend themselves rather than wait for the next pogrom.
The reestablishment of the State of Israel came too late for the Jews of Slovechna.
But today, Israel is here and Israel is strong. Never again must Jews rely solely on the goodwill of their neighbors just to live.
❗️Defense Minister Fedorov stated that Ukrainians do not need a “man with a club” who will forcibly push them to the front. According to him, Ukrainians stopped the Russians not thanks to Syrsky’s authoritarian style, but because they themselves made that decision. Servicemen consciously take risks while defending their families, which is why the army must radically change its approach: show respect, offer normal contracts, clear terms of service, the possibility of rotation, social support, and commanders who listen to people and support their leadership.
I report on Russian terrorist attacks against civilians every day. It seems to me that because the casualty numbers of individual attacks are not "shocking" on their own, people and news outlets just look the other way.
But let’s count together how many people Russia killed today alone:
- 3 in Sumy, where a Russian glide bomb struck near a medical facility.
- 3 in Odesa, in a missile strike.
- 1 in the Mykolaiv region, on a farm.
- 1 in the Chernihiv region, in his own home.
- 2 in Zaporizhzhia (where the death toll was unfortunately just updated).
- 2 in the Donetsk region, also in their own home.
That is 12 lives taken already, and it is only evening here. The number of injured is much higher, with many suffering severe, life-altering trauma.
Yet almost nobody is covering this. Not a single major news outlet. That is how desensitized the world has become to Ukrainians being bombed.
This is just one single day out of four and a half years of war, and these numbers only reflect the territories we control.
Please do not stay silent. Do not let our deaths become invisible, and do not let Russian war crimes go unpunished. If the news won’t speak for us, we need your voice.

This is the face of the Pro-Palestinian movement. Listen to what this Kuwaiti Muslim man says
Muslim guy: “I love Hamas. I would kill Israeli babies along with their mothers. The baby first. Then the mum cries. And then I shoot the mum”
Jewish guy: “I thought Islam was a religion of peace.”
Muslim guy: Nooo, hahaha, nooo.”
Ah yes - Isiah - the one who prophesied the Jewish State that your Synod now regards as illegitimate, supremacist and colonial entity.
“In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean. He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.” (Isaiah 11:11-12)
Anne-Marie, this should be front page news and it isn't.
Global Counsel, the consultancy Mandelson co-founded after leaving government in 2010, received substantial fees from WuXi AppTec, a Shanghai based biopharmaceutical company that was placed on the US Pentagon's list of companies allegedly connected to the Chinese military. The United States Congress moved to restrict WuXi's access to American contracts precisely because of those alleged military connections.
Mandelson was therefore receiving significant consultancy income from a company the United States government considered a Chinese military concern, at the same time his appointment to Washington was being processed. The same Washington where he would have access to Strap Three intelligence. The same intelligence relationship he was supposed to be managing on Britain's behalf with a Trump administration that was simultaneously restricting WuXi's access to American contracts.
The conflict of interest is not subtle. A British ambassador receiving fees from a Pentagon listed Chinese military concern, placed in the most sensitive intelligence sharing post in the Western alliance, with Strap Three clearance, after failing his developed vetting on grounds that centred on his China connections. And Downing Street, which had read the due diligence report flagging those connections, says it knew nothing.
That is not a question of poor judgment. That is a question of whose interests were actually being served by that appointment. And it is a question that an independent inquiry with access to classified material needs to answer with the full weight of the intelligence record behind it.
