Not all criticism is constructive. Not all critics are thinking critically.
Weak critiques attack your identity. Decent critiques challenge your ideas. Strong critiques sharpen your thinking and improve your ideas.
Listen closely to the people who care enough to help you grow.
@MonicaLewinsky Thank you for posting. I shared this with our school social worker who helps lead our middle school Advisory program - I think this will be a great resource for talking about curbing negative self-talk. Thank you again!
For anyone feeling that student disrespect and lack of motivation are on the rise, this conversation with @AlexSVenet about unconditional positive regard may be just what you need. https://t.co/sg02LUHl1G #classroommanagement
@Jess5th I love the slides as a way to house the interviews and photos. I did a similar project years ago with students and couldn't think of a great way to collect and showcase all the work. Thanks for sharing!
@KellyGToGo I just did this informally with my son going into 5th grade - super interesting and I'm excited to ask him again in a few months. Thank you for sharing!
These teachers modeled and leaned into joy, vulnerability, and ambiguity in a major way! I can't wait for our project tunings on Monday to see what they create! #beautifulwork
Teachers are out in our community learning and experiencing #pbl. We began yesterday with @GholdyM's framework and are now creating artifacts to answer the question: "Who feeds our community?" We learned about food access, market access, SNAP benefits, and our local farmers.
When teachers experience learning in new and authentic ways, they can create meaningful learning experiences for students. A lot of reflection time and modeling took place.
@mrmarchayes I logged in and started playing around - asking for writing samples, openings to newsletters, tips for supporting middle schoolers in a developmentally-appropriate way, and lesson-planning - all very interesting! Would encourage others to jump in and take a look around. #ChatGPT
Our art teacher shares about the beautiful work she supports in the artist studio. By beautiful, I mean the most beautiful process work.
It's magical when students own their space like this and are supported to view themselves as creators. #arted https://t.co/YTtnBEREgF
@TonyThurmond We have student teachers who are here at school, but 30 day sub credentials are delayed back to mid-July submittal. Please help us get our student teachers cleared at CCTC so we have coverage. #teachershortage
@Lindsie_McCabe @squidscape That sounds really interesting! We'd love to invite you to our school in downtown Chico. 2nd graders learn about pollinators as part of their spring project. I'm the Director and would be thrilled to connect you with a classroom if you'd be interested. Thank you! @ChicoCountryDay
