@wfassinger @cqholt @JasonHWinston That street is absolutely ripe for experiments in traffic calming. It’s a wide enough road to add tree island medians with crosswalks. It would enhance the park and nearby beltline to boot.
This is a very good and reasonable first and quick step in safety! It also shouldn't have too many barriers to implement except $ from AYSO during scheduled times. I am certain parents would pay the $5-$10 extra person registration as a safety fee.
@EricTeusink Agreed! It's ridiculously unsafe there! There was zero thought put into how to get to the fields. Also,
significant parent failure and guilt on my part.
@cqholt @JasonHWinston Please help! AYSO is the soccer organization renting out the fields for ages as young as 4 years old there. There is absolutely NO SAFE way to park and walk to the soccer fields there without navigating speeding cars on Englewood! Our family is ready to speak out on this issue
