@WakeForest If the 15 streaking students last night (who were also breaking glass across the quad during a pandemic) were of a different ethnic background, would they too be given the same grace since they too are “just being seniors?”
As this administration attempts to calm the anxieties of students, faculty, and staff they need to remember that not everyone feels safer with an increased police presence—particularly the communities that were targeted
If @PresidentHatch’s Commission on Race, Equity, and Community is to be taken seriously it must make student safety a priority. Enough talk @WakeForest —we call for action. Institute a #zerotolerance policy for white supremacy
These threats targeted, amongst other groups, people of color and LGBTQ+ students. To the students who live in the intersections of these identities, queer POC, women of color--we see you and stand in your defense #canyouhearus@WakeForest
We recently reached out to the head of @WakeForest Office of Diversity and Inclusion about the need to satisfy our demands. These recent events illustrate the immediate need for a #zerotolerance policy for white supremacy #canyouhearus
ARC is eternally grateful for sharing tonight’s event with activists from Winston-Salem State University and Get Hate Out of Winston. Thank you all for speaking truth to power and sharing your experiences.
