Save the Date. March 19. The Game Revenue Optimization Mini-Summit.
https://t.co/LtVJ7ebMrz
The point of the summit is to build a community of people who think about revenue optimization more holistically. Revenue Optimization is not just "How do I compute ROAS more effectively?", it's not just "How do I optimize my in-game events?", it's not just "How do I re-engage lapsed users?", it's not just "How do I cross-promote my other products within my games?", it's not just...
Effectively optimizing game revenue is one of the hardest problems out there. And it's about time that we, the people who are thinking about the problem had a place where we can network with like-minded professionals, hear fascinating talks, and maybe eat a few meatballs.
Most people are excellent at making suggestions once a basic prompt is in place. Google Whisk hints at how a simple workflow based around taking the output from a prompt and iteratively modifying it with additional instructions (e.g. a new prompt that refers to the current output) might get us past this problem.
In the very near future, you’ll be able to have a conversation with an AI version of yourself that looks and sounds exactly like you. It will be like talking to a clone of yourself on FaceTime. It’s impossible to overstate just how much severe mental illness this will cause, and how many incredibly sinister ways this will be exploited by corporations and governments. This is just one small application of AI and all by itself it will destroy the minds of millions of vulnerable people.
@trengriffin This "hates the taste of humans" is probably very diet-dependent. I'd be willing to bet they spit out humans raised on fast food and chemicals, but would enjoy a nice Nordic fisherman who eats a traditional diet.
If you ever doubted the importance of George Thoroughgood to the Western Classical Tradition, I present to you: Youtube's current recommendations for me.
@michaelshermer@JohnHMcWhorter Did he? The Golden State Warriors -- the term is a group of people. By the logic of the article ("people are not pets"), that's also inappropriate, no?
In my latest (and last!) column for Science’s Expert Voices series, I write about the reasons behind AI chatbots’ “deceptive” behaviors (and why Claude threatened a fictional CEO with blackmail).

When I was a teenager in the '80s, everywhere you went you heard contemporary hits on the radio.
It's 2025, and everywhere you go you hear '80s hits on the radio.
What happened? Don't young people want their own music? It's as if back then we were all listening to Glenn Miller instead of Duran Duran.
I honestly believe this is one of the biggest mysteries there is, Orcas are the most efficient predators on earth, yet they have never attacked us in the wild. They know something we don’t.
I took Grok 4 for a spin this weekend to build this game prototype.
I used SuperGrok Chat to generate the initial game prototype and then brought it over to Cursor to continue coding with Grok 4 MAX.
Grok 4 in Cursor is like a no-nonsense agent. Doesn't speak much, but delivers the goods. There were moments where I was rate-limited or stuck on a bug or two that I had to get other models to help, but otherwise it's a fast, reliable model to work with.
This makes me incredibly excited for Grok Code to launch in August!
@srnkcx We're connected on LinkedIn, we're connected on Twitter, and we live like 10 miles away from each other.
If we connect on FB, I think I have to report you to the police as a stalker :-)
On a personal note, I rejoined Facebook recently and have been gradually connecting with people, for many reasons, most not worth explaining.
If you get an invite from me over there, it's probably me.
Developers everywhere rejoice.
Yesterday's U.S. federal court ruling about web storefronts is a huge win for developers.
It's also yet another step along the path to a complete dismantling of the Apple and Google walled gardens. Which will ultimately lead to much lower fees on in-app purchases as well.

TIL that hiring an @Austan_Goolsbee impersonator costs $30K.
What a rip-off. I can get the entire Rat Pack AND they'll throw in Michael Jackson for $15K.
@AdobeCare I used your online chat from within creative cloud and they said the backend is undergoing maintenance for the next 72 hours.
Would DM'ing you improve on that?
