My God what a depressing, accurate read. I keep wanting to wake up from this nightmare, and I can't.

@janephilpott@CFNUPresident@CFNU Agreed. Where there’s the political will, there is a way! We had a Wait Time Guarantee for the “big 5” procedures that worried Canadians the most. Why not commit to a Primary Care Guarantee?
Alberta premier’s support for town hall questioning COVID vaccines worries experts https://t.co/htnZKF9L4H
Reality: 1) the "contrarian voices" were NOT, as the premier claims, silenced. Studies show that their BS was everywhere. Alas, false balance reigns!
2) There is a huge body of "international evidence" that shows the vaccines saved millions of lives & have a very impressive risk/benefit ratio.
3) It seems the UCP doesn't like what the real science (and the marketplace of ideas) says about the vaccines, so they are searching for and elevating discredited nonsense.

A great discussion at #CAHSPR2024 on tackling misinformation:
understand why people engage with misinformation,
look at the evidence of what works to combat it,
use evidence in crafting messages to debunk,
& support institutions in sharing evidence in the way that works!

My wise friend & colleague @ColleenFlood2 says "Instead of dismantling the CHA, we should renew our commitment to its core principles of universality & equity – values deeply ingrained in Canadians – while adapting to the evolving health care landscape."👍 https://t.co/nxOW9yxV0U
@DennisKendel@SKGov@PremierScottMoe@globeandmail When all is said and done, more is still said than done in reducing serious avoidable adverse events in the system. Better, more integrated data is part of the answer. Bigger challenge is the staffing crisis. Still more talk than action on needs-based HHR planning.
